Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
yeh, most odd :S
i *know* that car had a standalone ecu in it before with the 10k pullup and the rev counter worked fine
I had heard that the mod was done on the clocks, but maybe it was done on the loom!
without the pullup the needle wont budge at all :(
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
10k pullup wont work on the coil signal wires, its to 'boost' the ecu output to replicate a coil signal and thus be compatible with the mk1 clocks
trust me, pin 70 ftw, coil signal wire ftl ;)
there isn't an ecu coolant output is there? the clocks take their feed from the sensor. the ecu outputs the light control i think?
easiest to install the mk1 sensor as it works with the light and is calibrated for the mk1 dash too
also, you don't have to mix signals
you need the mk1 sensor as it controls both the warning light and the analog gauge
also worth using some silicone gasket :D
its pin 70 that you need for the rpm signal.
*apparently* your clocks already have the 10k resistor wired up, as the car was previously running on standalone...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
mine passed brands' noise testing without them batting an eyelid - mines identical except I have a magnex backbox instead of a mongoose
be reet ;)
