Yeah pretty much, was just looking round the local dealer one weekend and the last car turned out to be this and just fell for it. Definately a big difference from the 1.2 I was use to.
It's pretty easy mate you just undo the screws on the dash (2 either side and think there is 3/4 in the air vent by the bottom of the windscreen), undo the screws by the passenger dash strip and drivers dash strip and take the steering wheel cover off and you should be able to lift the dash up...

Don't waste your money on them ace parts bulbs off ebay, they blow all the time. He must of sent me about 5 replacements they blew that much. Them philips sidelights are very good I bought the 6k set for the bm and there def worth the money.

No it's not a failure it's fine to have them not wired up mate, he hasn't had fogs before and a lot of cars don't have fogs and they've passed MOTs, plus we have fog about once a year so there hardly important to be a MOT requirement.
Get a screwdrive or a butter knife (something like that) and wrap a ragg/cloth round it and push the side strips at the edges away from you, you may even be able to slide them with your hand if there loose mate.
Flick the covers out mate and have a look to see if there's any brackets behind the bumper, if there isn't you'll need to get some brackets (scrapyard or Renault). Then just put the brackets in behind the bumper and then fit the foglights through the front.
