Dont waste your money on a new OEM- its ~ £300 just a nice stainless rear box- just 100% check its the rear box & not the centre box as they fall to bits as well- Steve

Yes it is -- you can only adjust it & test it if the rack is seperated from the bottom of the coloumn which means taking the whole lot off I think- But once off you know its fooked- the only other thing is loose subframe bolts- S

When they take the rack off they will turn the top part of the rack manually- I had mine in my garage ( after the new one went on from my mechanic ) & it was notchy as fu*- wish id have kept it- Remember also a new rack comes with track rod ends as well- It will be the rack not the column-...

Its the pinion where the rack meets the column. why dont you buy a rack and get them to fit, when clonk goes they know its the rack. Ive had 2 racks fitted now, 1 fitted by my mechanic and 1 by renault maidstone after masters cocked it up and both cars felts brand new after. S

When you do the alternator repair do you need a new aux belt kit?

gear box, belts & dephaser for less than 800? The parts for the belt change with dephaser - ~ £350 The Courier & price for recon gearbox at AT ~ £300 So all you need is someone to do all those hours & hours of labour for £150- Of course most people put a clutch in when you do a gearbox- so...
