I expect the cams are out, they dont blow engines if they are a couple of teeth out.
When ever I do a belt I always turn it over twice by hand and make sure the cam locking tool and crank pin always go in, that way you know its spot on.
I expect that was never done.
Shocks, only say that from my own experience with my car, handling was never that good with mine but was used to it so didnt bother sorting it, to busy doing everyone else's cars.
Put new springs and shocks on mine friday nite and it drives and handles way better than it ever did before.

take the interior light down, look up and you will see two 20 torx screws, take them out, drop unit down fit new part then put it all back.
10 mins max.
Thats the cut into the wiring loom and you break down box!
Its a security cover to stop the ecu being removed basically.
If it was on my car and rattling around I would personally bin it.
It can be re-fitted properly but will eventually cut into the loom or come loose and rattle again.
To...
every 10k for a minor service (oil and filter)
every 20k for a major IIRC
Done a few since opening and all I normally do is call peugeout and ask for all the bits for a service, that way you get everything you need for the mileage.
Not to bad to do at all, take the drivers wheel off, pull the inner arch trim at the back forward a bit then its all easy to do.
Part number is 7700 815 667
16 odd quid plus vat
