Chaps,
On Saturday afternoon when I started the car up, I noticed that the stereo didn't come on. I manually pressed the On button - but nothing happened. Yet all the backlit orange lights on the unit were on.
However, when I switched the car off - these orange backlights lights stayed on...
What size are they? Torx-30 is too small and I'm VERY worried about shearing the bloody things. Whereas Torx-40 is too big.
Is it some daft size like a 32 or 35 or something that I don't have to hand? Seems crazy that they would use something as flimsy as Torx for something that requires a...
Got a new front wheel bearing the other day (thanks again Chris! :)) and was thinking of swapping it over this coming weekend.
Is it a straight-forward job and would I need to get the tracking looked at again afterwards? Would a replacment bearing even affect the tracking? (goddamn n00b! :o)...
Has anyone else had trouble downloading it? I've tried at home and at work by both the ADSL and leased line internet connections and it bombs out anywhere between 40MB and 50MB saying that there's an unknown error?
Checking this error out on the forums, it dates back to 2007 with no obvious...
I really, really should have learnt by now. ALL Puzzle Quest games are fixed. The CPU opposition will win, win and win and leave you thinking 'WTF?' time and again. They are the gambling equivalent of a one-armed-bandit machine - so rigged, you ask yourself why are you wasting time even playing...
Sorry for the vagueness on this guys, but I've only noticed it this week.
Heading home on the motorway, I could hear a very subtle droning noise in the background - distinct enough to be heard over the iPod but not really loud, if that makes sense?! Switched the tunes off and listened a bit...
Not really looked into this as of yet, but is there anyway of getting the old XP-style network icon on Windows 7....
...and replace the utterly pointless, inanimate, Icon of Turd that comes with Win 7? I've already got the Windows Gadgets installed that tell me the info I want, but I miss...

Anybody used these guys? Sounds perfect for us, but a little 'too good to be true' if you get my meaning.
Any other suggestions for offloading old IT crap would be much appreciated! Anyone want an old Compaq Proliant server? Top spec - Pentium 2 300Mhz with 512MB...
Really, really looking forward to this. I loved the original which looks very dated now, but it remained a favourite of mine throughout the Total War series of games.
This looks epic. So much potential. :)

Got one of those 360 controllers plugged in (the PC is currently on it's third day of therapy and medication to cope) - but I'm stuck on the following bit. A pissing easy one at that!
So I need to press LB to start the jump or else I just fall off/never make it to the other side. But the LT...
Only really seen it 'working' first hand this morning when installing Windows 7 Pro x64 on one of our HP 2230s laptops.
Going about it's normal business, the CPU was running at 780Mhz, 880Mhz, 980Mhz and peaking at 1,080Mhz, before dropping back to 780Mhz when things got a little quiet...
Well, I'm still reinstalling the occasional game on the new i7 system and this weekend, I got around to Battlefield 2142.
As a few people may know from other threads & posts - I really do hold this game in very high regard indeed. It maybe from 2006, but the balance of map design, units and...
I know a few people on the CS Steam group have this, but a heads-up for those that don't! It reminds me of mish-mash between Alien Syndrome and Gauntlet. A 4-player co-op game but with a more up-to-date feel.
More importantly, I cannot believe that these guys gave it away for free...
Just checking if this is the norm, guys. Having been firmly in the AMD camp for nearly a decade and a half, are the retail boxed Intel heat-sink and fans usually poor in terms of performance?
I've been tinkering with the i7 which has a stock clock of 2.8Ghz. I only just got it to 3.2Ghz when I...
Chaps,
Just head-scratching a little here. I recently replaced my mobo and a few other bits, together with a reformat of Windows 7.
I had the OS on a RAID0 volume and Steam backups, patches, downloads etc on a seperate RAID1 volume. Both RAID volumes were controlled by an nVidia nvRAID...
Two silver 172s pretty much within seconds of each other, heading up Cavendish Street, opposite Asda.
Then a Monaco 172 at Morrisons in Dukinfield.
Probably around 11-11.30 this morning...

Chaps,
Can I have your input on the following three bits that I'm thinking of buying to revamp the core of my PC at home...
Asus Rampage III Extreme mobo
Intel i7 930 CPU @2.8Ghz (8MB)
G-Skill 4GB (2x 2GB kit) PC3-17600 memory
The key part I'm unsure of is the memory. I've never had G-Skill...
Normally, they are strictly off limits to me. A bit like watching "The Making of 'insert film name here'" before you actually watch the film itself. They can give away hints and tips to the game before you've even took a step in it and maybe even dilute the experience overall, imo.
However, I...
