Completely understand buddy The main thinking was I could be doing a fair few miles each year (up to around 15k is a possibility) So I've got a choice - get one low mileage and by the time I'm done it should be around normal mileage, or get a high mileage one and carry on racking the mileage...

Thanks All! Problem is I live out in the countryside, the close road with white markings is 7 miles away....so keeping it clean is probably going to be a major pain! Also I'm thinking if you did catch a hedge (which unfortunately you have to sometimes) Black will show the scratches a lot worse...

Thanks all, seems that it really does make a lot of difference. At least I know now for looking - either get one which has had the belts done at a specialist or get one which hasn't had the belts done for cheaper and get the belts done by a specialist.... Thanks all

What are the consequences of the timing being out?

I'm starting at looking getting a Clio 182 a lot more seriously and obviously making sure the belts and pulley is done is a main factor Now how much difference does it make regarding getting the belts done by a Specialist rather than a normal garage? Just so I can work out if I'm going to...
