By same spec Intel vs AMD are you talking number of cores and clock speed? Because each intel core is currently wayyyy more advanced than each AMD core. So core for core at the same clock speed Intel wins every time It's literally as simple as that.

Yes you can, more and more apps are supporting the firetv now. The main ones work but some more obscure ones won't. They've only brought it out for non fireOS devices relatively recently

Yeah live streaming isn't something I bother with. I rarely watch movies on it all that much either, I use Netflix and Amazon Prime Video for that. I pretty much use it to watch US TV shows we have no access to over here or I'll watch something I forgot to record on my Sky HD box on it.

970 is a great card so long as you're not pushing the limits of the VRAM. I'm currently running 2 of them but obviously have to be careful with VRAM limits still.

Technically yes. No you won't be able to play it through the default Amazon FireTV OS and Prime app, but you will be able to get it shortly after release on Kodi through one of the apps on there like Genesis.
