you dont need to take door cards off to take the handle off, there should be a grommit on the door insde of the door shut, take the grommit out and Put your finger in the hole and undo the clips and open it with the tab the handle pulls on
had my clio 200 for 6-7 months and it goes abit like this
MPG if driven normally is about 32-37mpg, when you put your foot down you can get low 20s
service internals was 12k (which i hit within 4 months) and a renault service was 180 quid i think, but a specialist will do one for about 110-150...
The megane is a much nicer place to be than the Clio tbh and I upgraded from a 200 to a megane and I still think the megane interior is leagues ahead of the 200 in build quality and just general niceness, the megane is a joy to drive on long motorway journeys and the Clio just felt very small in...
