It really is a peice of piss mate.
Lets assume your mobo will support over 137Gb without a BIOS update or new card fitted - you can do this at a later date if you need to (will have to format again though)
Take the case off.
Check for physical space to fit the drive.
Set the jumpers on the new...
Yeah I always buy OEM where i can, saves a few quid.
With OEM you might not get an IDE cable though so unless you have some knocking about, order one of those as well. - if you want to add it to secondary - depends on your setup.
Check what drive bays you have, you may need some brakets to fit...
you don't have to fit memory in pairs.
Your machine would run quite happily with 1, 2, 3 or all 4 slots filled. Just go for the same speed and same size. I have had motherboards in the past that didn't mind different sizes but some that did.
If it's the link on the site i think you mean then you have to know the mobo model and it won't tell you what you have, it will tell you what you CAN have. You can't (normally anyway) mix different speeds.
Intel(R) 82801EB Ultra ATA Storage Controllers
Don't see any mention of SATA.
IDE (PATA) it is then mate.
RAM - best bet is pop the case, should have a sticker on your existing memory.
Unless I'm blind it doesn't give you the make and model of motherboard so you still need to check that on...
Not 100% sure to be honest. I know XP without any SP's won't handle over 137Gb - i think SP1 corrected this. I assume previous version won't be able to - not sure though.
probably have ntl blocked. Check your browser settings.
In firefox it will be CONTENT -> LOAD IMAGES -> EXCEPTIONS. Make sure ntl isn't listed in there.
Can't check the location in IE, i'm not running windows atm.
get the model of your mobo (usually printed on the board somewhere if you're not sure) and check out the manufacturers website.
You'd soon know because you'll either be able to access all 200Gb or just 137Gb.
If you can only access 137Gb you'd have to install the card (assuming there is no...
Don't know what size drive you have at present but your bios may not be able to support over 137Gb although there maybe a BIOS update to correct this.
If not then you'll need an IDE Controller card. Like this one...

Thanks for all the help so far.
I couldn't get the above to work :(
However I found this and it did work: :D
sudo mkdir /media/windows
sudo cp /etc/fstab /etc/fstab_backup
sudo gedit /etc/fstab
Added this line to the end of the file:
/dev/hda1 /media/windows ntfs nls=utf8,umask=0222 0 0
And then...
