    Slight humming noise when moving.

Does this imply a wheel bearing is shot? Seems to happen as speed builds up but then I can't hear it once I start going faster. Maybe because of other noise covering it up. Also seems to be coming from behind me. How do I test the wheel bearings? Jack the car up and wobble the wheel around...

    Another Snappy wheel. Inferno 182

His work is so good. It costs about £185 but he'll give you £40 or so back when you return your standard wheel. Give or take a couple of quid I can't remember exactly. Obviously you've got to sort out the postage for sending your wheel back too etc.

What tyres for wet / rainy trackdays??

Everything seems right to me? Don't think I've made a mistake?? Looking at the site again now. I think they must have changed something. There was definitely a choice between 82v and 86v before. The previous data was just copied from the site and I only had R1Rs listed. Ordering some of...

Suspension coil broke + coilover help

The only thing that could potentially cause problems is really cheap and nasty coilovers. Springs will be fine on their own if you go for one of the above. Obviously I can't tell if you have any underlying problems with your shocks currently but you'd probably have realised yourself by now.
  17. Martin.

Suspension coil broke + coilover help

Eibach Sportlines at about £150 (Keep standard shocks) Cooksport springs at about £110 (Keep standard shocks) Or Coilovers at £300-£1000 depending on quality.

Should I get this repaired for £165

I wouldn't bother yet to be honest. If you're a new driver you might have a few bumps and scrapes to come yet anyway. You'd be more annoying if you spent money to get it done and then did exactly the same thing a couple of months later. It doesn't even look that bad. I've got much more on...

What tyres for wet / rainy trackdays??

Seems odd then how they can be so much cheaper. But anyway I'm rambling away now and going round in circles lol. Thanks for the help chaps.

    Show me your graph!

Just heard from a little birdie where your car is. You're in good hands now!

Suspension coil broke + coilover help

As far as I'm aware people only replace the shocks if they are doing a full suspension refresh. I've had my springs on now for plenty of abusive trackdays and all is still fine so don't worry. Just buy the springs and enjoy the better ride height and stiffness for spirited driving.
  22. Martin.

What tyres for wet / rainy trackdays??

Yeah I have done :) It's load rating. 82 is 475kg max load. 86 is 530kg. No idea how that relates to stiffness at all though.
  23. Martin.

What tyres for wet / rainy trackdays??

Plus they're cheaper. Just seem toooooo cheap lol. Almost like there's a catch!

What tyres for wet / rainy trackdays??

If you wouldn't mind that would be great. Thanks. I like to be sure I'm getting the 'right ones' when buying tyres.
  25. Martin.

What tyres for wet / rainy trackdays??

Assuming the price hasn't moved too much you must have either 205s or the lower load rating ones (82V) "If they're good enough for you, they're good enough for me"
  26. Martin.

What tyres for wet / rainy trackdays??

£154.34 delivered all in seems far too cheap for 4 tyres lol!!!
  27. Martin.

What tyres for wet / rainy trackdays??

195s it is then! Still not sure whether 82v or 86v though. What have people used before?
  28. Martin.

Suspension coil broke + coilover help

At the time yes. Apart from some brake pads but that's completely un related.
  29. Martin.

What tyres for wet / rainy trackdays??

I'll go with what you say. Thanks Tony However trying to understand it confuses me lol. Surely more width means more grip. Even if you have to move water no? Otherwise you could argue that a car on slim steel wheels with 105mm or whatever for example would be better in the wet than a car on...
