Unsure on your terminology dude, by inner panel do you mean the arm sort of panel supporting the wing? These are typically welded on.

Tidy, but you'll never be able to use the flash and make the arches look clean! I usually just clean them with the hose, the jet of water can just about get through the arch gap. Strips are sanded down again and in primer, except the smaller one fell flat on it's face so having to redo that...
