Are you aligning them with the needles on? If so that's where you're going wrong, you must take the needles off, and only attach them back on when you've got the position right. You can't just manually move the needles.
It's a pain because when you're putting them back on...
Wouldn't worry about the scratches, you'll crack it soon! I must have scrapped mine along the floor 25+ times now... looking rather rough tbh, might get another one at some point.

You need to place them around 1-2mm lower than '0' if you get me. As you know they flick up when the ignition is switched off. I'm trying to remember how I done it, many attempts of trial and error I certainly remember that! I think it was something along the lines of...

Same here currently sitting on 27.9! Haven't been able to give it a long drive for ages :( hopefully going to Scotland later in the year will even it out a bit lol.
I pay £0 p/m for my EE broadband. It's had it's problems but last time they sent me out a brand new (better) router for free after they sorted the issues (actually it was BT's fault, not really theirs) so overall pretty happy!

Most people don't care and certainly don't look into whether it was OEM or not.
