another advantage to using a subframe is that it has a harness mounting point ( handbrake side) so you therefore dont need to drill a hole through the transmission tunnel to mount an eyebolt to mount your harness
the subframe bolts to the original floor holes and creates a flat surface to mount the side mounts to (clio has stupid un-even floor pan) so it saves you having to drill through the chassis. and then you bolt the sidemounts to the subframe
