I think it passes ABS information via Pin 14 on the smaller connector, I can't remember whether it's a proper data stream or just earthing/powering it.
If no signal is present, then ABS, Serv and Stop come on.

Can't you ship over a secondhand one from the UK and get some local transmission specialist to fit it for you?

The newer hatches are probably better, but having not looked at half of that list before I couldn't tell you about those.
Fiesta ST is probably the best out of them new-for-new.
That means it might last 10 minutes instead of 5, but seriously even a rebuilt box won't hold up long under the sort of power and torque you get with boost.
The problem with spending a lot of money boosting a clio, is that it's still built by lazy frenchmen and has a gearbox made of lukewarm chocolate.
It will break, more regularly than normal, and you will get fed up with it. IMO.
