I bought mine without a test drive, I had test driven a R27 though. And Steve did take me for a little drive before I paid him. I could tell I wanted it :D

Personally don't understand why cups are more than normal 172's. Looks in nice condition though.

Well the car is overpriced to begin with and they offered me silly price on my old car PX and when I contested it they offered £250 more and wouldnt budge at all and then they wouldn't take any money off the price at all.
Ended up buying from a member on here, slightly more miles FF not cup...
You remove the bumper and wing as far as I know ?
Lifting the engine probably makes it a hell of a lot easier but a longer job.
Let your mate have a look over the fastchip guide and make sure hes confident doing it and use the proper tools. It will be ok, take shortcuts and it wont :o
