What about a direct short when your mate accidentally kicks something? How much current does that draw? What the LEDs draw is irrelevant.
Putting an inline fuse in, as you have suggested, is fine though.
Really sorry to hear this.
At least be thankful that you weren't seriously hurt.
Personally I'd be looking for a RS right now, but if you do want to go elsewhere it's your choice, best of luck.
Yes, but as posted earlier, if shorted it'll have quite a few amps going through it until the fuse melts. It's just good practice to have the main wiring rated to the same level as the system protection. Burnt/molten wiring behind dashboards etc isn't great.
W and then the model number. So for example W124, W202 etc.
The above is W222 IIRC. (or at least that's the current S class, don't know if the coupe version has a separate number)
6k is colour, not brightness. The higher it gets the bluer it is and the lower it gets the yellower it is, pure white is about 5000k so 6000k has a tinge of blue.
Obviously if you go fitting 10000k bulbs they'll be illegal because they're blue (AKA Chav Blue), but 6000k is fine.
In your case, swap the bulb over to the other side, then the igniter, and then finally the ballast. When the light on the other side stops working, that's the component which has failed.
Sounds like your mate's got a short though, possibly in the igniter if he hasn't swapped that out yet.
Really? Any idea whereabouts he's moving to? Would be absofcukinglutely awesome to see him tackle werrington/wiscombe, but he might wonder where the rest of it was.
Personally I think the OEM exhaust with no centre silencer is the best sounding Clio RS setup there is, and it certainly isn't that loud. I understand you don't like it though.
As for the back pressure, the centre silencer doesn't affect it hugely, and you definitely don't loose power by not...
