You need to speak to y0z2a. Hes covered 28k miles in his Cup in just 10 months. Hes well qualified to comment on using the Cup for long journeys.
Im happy with the nice seats and toys of the 172.
Welcome Clio babe. Now get ready for the rest of the male members to try and hump your leg, they dont know any better. You wont get that from me as Ive just been outed apparently.:o
You cheeky sod, Im spending more time trying to locate all the posts in which you have insulted me. :@;)
See, look what we have to contend with.
Welcome to Cliosport.
Here I am. Sorry for the delay I was waxing the mask.
All this talk reminds me, I need some flyers, only got two left and when I get chance I know where they are going. Cup outside Fosters fishing tackle most nights, and a totally mint N plate valver in Kingstanding.
Id be surprised if hell even get a fine. I have friend who has a California drivers license and he got done while back over here on business. They did his mate who was in another car, but didnt do a thing to my mate.
I believe its too much paperwork.
I take all RR results with a pinch of salt to be honest. Its on the 1/4 mile where it shows. Look at the guys with the R Sport ECU. The figures dont show massive gains, but how that power is delivered is evident on the strip.
Either way, Im still happy with the car but you can never have...
Exactly Mike. At least that level of power was consistent with all the 172s.
I think Steves V6 made around 208bhp @FW if my memory serves me correct. Oh and he let me take it out for a spin :D
Im sort of considering going to the Power Engineering RR day, for comparison, but to be honest its a bit far for me to travel.
I know a few people are going who did the Midlands one so that should give an idea of how the RRs vary.
Yeah Mike. Unfortunately.
Here are my results, I have the graphs if you want to see them?
They were all pretty much identical.
By the way, that is my car as you can see by the reg, somehow I got called Steve Atkins. :confused...
At the recent Midlands Rolling Road day 172s were producing between 158 and 162bhp @FW. That included a car with zorst, chip and induction kit. All the rest were standard.
That is very red. Kinda sad to see the black bonnet go, I really liked it. But that does look very nice mate. But as bubs says, the only time itll be stealthy is when its parked up not running ;)
Is it just the pictures, but that red looks a hell of a lot brighter than the rest of the car?
Never one to pass up the opportunity to put up some pictures. Ive just washed the car with the Zymol shampoo, and it was last waxed for Donny South. Still looks good as far as Im concerned.

I dont see why you would want to change from the products you currently use if you are happy with the finish?
I wash mine weekly with Zymol shampoo, and when/if I ever wax it I use Zymol wax. To be honest after waxing it left the car very steaky and patchy. This was soon put right by...
:D
Didnt someone post something about a low pressure cat which K-Tec are working on? Sounds ideal for me if they are. Is that the one you were refering to Chris or is that a full decat?
Is the K-tec one which still retains the cat (a low pressure one) and keeps it within emmision levels?
I believe dogmaul has ordered this one: http://www.supersprint.com/a_prodotti.asp?modello=rencli20http://www.supersprint.com/a_prodotti.asp?modello=rencli20
[edit] lol beat me to it.
Funny you should say that Rob as I was just pondering the same thing.
I have a friend who drives a TVR, Ibiza Cupra and an Impreza Turbo. All 3 of his cars are setup for normal 95ron, but he claims a noticable difference when using Optimax. Does this mean that a car such as the 172 which is...
My first car was a 10 year old Astra in red. It had had a total respray so didnt look too bad. but I used to park next to an 8 year old one which looked pink it had faded so badly.
I got a really streaky finish too. I left the car for a few hours after waxing then spayed a fine mist of water over the car and buffed it off with a micro fibre cloth. My car looked fantastic after that.
Mine is Monaco Blue so it looked even worse when it was streaked.
Ive always used Mer also. I still use it to get hard to remove flies, but I waxed the car with Zymol last time. That was a couple of months back and its still looking good after a wash with Zymol shampoo.
You think mer smells good. Check out Zymol, it smells of coconut and banana. Leaves...
This is a wind up, hes not really going to wash the car. Theres been nothing on the news about hell freezing over or flying pigs.
Funny thing is, other than your wheels being filthy it actually looks clean. Silver is at least good for one thing, hiding the dirt. ;)
Get some children to...
