Simple answer... look at test reports of both cars around tracks, and being timed on a straight... enough magazines, and renault themselves, have tested them.
172 cup comes out quicker in a straight line, 182 would be quicker around a circuit/ back road in most hands with traction etc...
Agreed, seeing as a 172 cup is still a ph2 172...
Full fat is a made up term that helps people describe things.
If it helps you describe your 172, use it.
Doesnt affect mot or insurance, fine to do this.
For insurance will have to declare the steering wheel as 'interior modifications' though (this will cover you should you choose to fit buckets etc too without need to declare anything further)

Dirty aston looks immense!
Forget the fact that its a 172/182, its just a revised model.
What you're looking at is a car thats 4 years newer, with half the mileage, for the same money.
Seems a no-brainer to me...
You dont even need to take the seat back/ boot out.
Just the seat base so theres nothing to sit on, similar to you'd do to get the seats comletely flat (mine passed mot like this)
No bolts required!
Might still need to remove the seatbelts though, not sure if they'll test them without...
