Re: My Phase 1 ITB Daily Runner
One of my mates had a 9-5, it was brutal. Was about 300bhp and kept doing the restraining arm on the auto box, but it had 200k on it and was still going. BUT I'm looking at newer cars really, no funny business :( Would just be a bonus if it wasn't s**t boring.
Re: My Phase 1 ITB Daily Runner
I'm looking at Mazda 3 MPS'. See this isn't a good start.
Dan, sell me something interesting. By interesting I mean 4 doors, 5 seats and enough space for a body in the boot. For when I put myself in it down a verge in Eastborne.
Re: My Phase 1 ITB Daily Runner
He is a bit of a who*e yeh lol. It wasn't even a decision at the time, he just txt me and I asked him out of the blue. I've no where for it at the moment, and it's money I could do without spending. Just had to draw a line really.
Sure when I'm in the position...
Re: My Phase 1 ITB Daily Runner
Change of plan, having a rough time of it at the moment - car is going to another member on here most likely. Real shame but it's just something I could do without right now. I'll be back with something else some when.
Sounds about right, took him 3 attempts at mine and it still had an awful flat spot. Just gave up in the end.
Sorry I'm being a bit forthright with it, but what's the point beating around the bush frankly lol.
So where was it mapped?
It really doesn't. For one I don't even think Matt will touch the standard ECU, and secondly he can actually map.
If it was K-Tec I'm not surprised, I don't understand why people still go there. He can't map for s**t.
Just to note, well done Mike for posting it up. A...
It's the same with everything, do you really need a 300bhp Megane ;)? Do I really need a high comp 172? Or two 680 Classifieds? lol not fckin' really!
Although the Mrs is finally putting her foot down lol, she wants me to sell the Clio already
It's probably quite a strong one mind you, just no-where near that figure! If you told him it was superchipped prior to the run he probably thought he could take the piss a bit lol.
Yeah there aren't many alternatives for the Wilwoods, people tend to say (about Greenstuff) urgh they fall apart or urgh they're well s**t. Not used them so can't comment
In fairness the Mintex pads are just as bad, and no where near as aggressive! Actually whilst on the subject Vic, do you have the sticky back shims? USE THEM! The pads are really pretty awful in those calipers for squeal much like Chip is saying.
I do, although I tarted mine up ;)
I've put the Mintex 1144s in mine at the minute, they're not too bad in those callipers, but I'd recommend the 1155s for track use really.
I've found people tend to say when running boost on the stock ECU that it's extremely linear, and you get a big surge of boost. Not very nice to drive I'd imagine! Even if you've saved yourself a few quid.
428s on their own are a bit weak as a single modification, still add some nice grunt nearer the top end though. 438s or GT cams. As said already people tend to just look at peak figures and not read between the lines (no pun intended)
