Can you lower the plastic bit that the leather attaches to. Went for blast in car came back and gaitor had pulled out of console, on close inspection broken 2 tiny lugs, so glued back on, re fitted. But notice when you go through gears leather seems very tight, almost pulling out of...

Keep oil, normal grease etc away from hubs as heat involved will make it run, creep. Copperslip is as good!

After nearly 10 days my 172 has returned as good as new. Gave the GOLF diesel back, so no longer TRUGGING ALONG. What a car, I really did miss that 7k HOWL.
