Well now.. my knowledge and experience with engines is quite limited, so I called the guy who built this engine and he helped me alot!
anyways, compared to my previous clio, where they looked like new at around 140k km on clock, these looked quite questionable, and then I removed the bearings...
And I almost painted that day, but it was windy and got a call that the gearbox was ready so I got to make a trip of ccy 340km to get the gearbox (it was Monday). Everything was prepared but not painted.
Since track day was on Thursday, and nothing was painted on Tuesday, I decided that I would...
It continued as it started, optimistically and bravely, one might say optimistic.. 🤣
The gearbox was taken for repair, all the seals and the bushing on the selector and 2 bearings were replaced.. the 1st and 2nd speed fork was worn out and had no plastic on the ends of the "hand".. the pictures...

The arch liners were mostly screwed on with self-tapping screws 🥲. They are not the original liners, some thin plastic that I have never seen before, but bent like an OEM liner.. strange

Dont know about UK, but in europe we have a shop named 'intercars' and it has Polish roots, and basically you give them your old rear beam ( rear beams that have torsion bars...
my friend managed to find out, that phase 1 has 2 maps from factory
over knock sensor the car identifies what fuel it has, and it has a map for 95 octane and 100 octane ( avaliable in Europe ), and accodingly to that it changes the map and power.
No progress on the car, but hot a hold of factory rims with caps. They were so ugly to me before, but grew on me.. They are getting rare to get hold off, especially with caps.

I find it kinda special, although many say it isnt' "original" sport, because the chassis doesnt have it's number from the factory ( it came un numbered, and had to be stamped at technical inspection - the numbers dont match renault numbers, but are numbers matching to...
does any1 knows the cause to this?
on my previous cable snapped 2 times. 1st one was oem, second ATE replacement, also when 2nd went it, new clutch was also installed. ( not because old one was bad.)

That's the current state. I moved the car outside of my friends garage because this is very dirty work and dont want to occupy the garage, because we do our regular maitnance in there.
Since I do this after work, it was easy in the summer, day last very long, it's warm etc, but now when...
Removed the rear axle, fuel tank, exhaust, everything
Factory sealer is a perfect hider of rust, on the outside it doesn't look that bad, but underneath, it's crying for it's life

The next step was getting the sills done, they were really, really bad.. Couldnt jack up the car..
This time I took it to different guy, he really is an oldschool guy, knows his job, but like all of them, he takes his time..

It took only 4 month to replace the sills and few...

Then, it decided it will piss the gas on the connection to fuel rail
So I zip tied it like they were free.. The gas hose is also cracked, its original, so I need to replace that, and will put F7P fuel rail, that's aluminum and can put a normal clamp...

My stupid ass found out that I've painted the wrong front calipers..
Brakes on Megane came in 2 versions ( on 16v), in 262mm and 280mm. I knew that on my (5door) there were 262mm discs and calipers, but somehow i measured that original brakes from the yellow one are 280mm.. yep.. they...
For the pads, went with ds 1.11 at front and regular ate at back
Regarding the rear subframe, oem is quite narrow, popular mod is to put scenic axle to get +6 cm ( 3cm on each side), and I bought used scenic rear axle.
