Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
Just for looks lol. Well, I removed all the inner plastics and drilled them
Yeah used one of them a few times moving the car around locally, but its a bit dodgy doing it over 150+ miles back home, considering someone has to be sat in the car being towed...
You will have no drive. Probably be able to get it into gear and let the clutch out but the car wont go anywhere. If its a Ph1 or early Ph2 that uses the speedo sensor in the back of the gearbox the speedo will rise as you are doing it too
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
At the moment - a few cable ties ;)
Yeah, well there was clutch material everywhere, all inside the bellhousing and jammed in the clutch plate. Proper wierd!
Sorry steve forgot to sort them pics earlier, will do it first thing!
And clutch problem yeah, the clutch itself was destroyed! Here: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?364502-Mk1-F4R-172-d-Track-Car-Project&p=6938113&viewfull=1#post6938113
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
I just had to watch that said video again, haha!
Unsure why it would have been slipping though, im 100% sure it was correctly adjusted as I hadnt long had the pedal box off when fitting the 172 servo/cylinder setup and everything felt 'normal'. That said...
Halfrauds on trade are cheap enough (£56 normally for the smallest one I think)... My other Teng one was a few hundred but only decent for bigger stuff as its got a higher range
Swap the small black relays round in the engine bay fusebox and then try it, if it works replace them ideally. This exact problem happened to St3ve on here last week, he replaced the relays and has never had a problem since..
ECU controls the rad fan, its twin speed too. The ECU triggers the yellow relay in the engine fusebox which in turn powers the fan on...
Cooling fan wont make it fail the MOT - it only comes on when the coolant temp gets upto the 'double dots' at the top of the gauge
