    MarkCup's 2017 Ford Focus RS

I'm expecting it to be. The recent information suggests with quite clear evidence that looks to confirm that it really was as simple a f*** up as the wrong parts being labelled/sent/fitted with end result being a gasket specifically designed for the Mustang 2.3 fitted, in error, to the RS 2.3...

    MarkCup's 2017 Ford Focus RS

The thing is, rejection is not an option, at all. If it failed within the first thirty days of ownership, absolutely it is, but at six months? I have to give them a chance to fix it, to remedy the fault...so I have, and they have. If it were to fail again, that's where it could start to get a...
  3. Tighten My Nuts

    MarkCup's 2017 Ford Focus RS

I know I'm asking for the moon on a stick and I'll probably never get it. I certainly don't need it, I'm happy where I am right now and still adore the RS. But it's fun to keep chipping away and if I ever did get anything from Ford it would be actual real internet gold.
  4. Tighten My Nuts

    MarkCup's 2017 Ford Focus RS

Nah, I love this thing. It'll take a lot more to make me lose faith in it. I'm sure it's fixed for good now...I just wish I could get Ford to admit something although that is highly unlikely. I doubt it! I was sat in traffic when I did it...and had no intention at all of actually launching...

    MarkCup's 2017 Ford Focus RS

In other news my run-in is slowly progressing...and a small issue has surfaced, briefly...
  6. Tighten My Nuts

    MarkCup's 2017 Ford Focus RS

It made me chuckle a little...I wonder if some festive cheer was behind his passionate posts! This is pure speculation based on a forum figure (which is hardly all encompassing) and a finger in the air figure of total cars sold. A straw poll of FRSOC suggests it's at least 5%. For a non safety...

    MarkCup's 2017 Ford Focus RS

Here's an intersting take on the problem...and some links to information I've not seen before with a lot more detail on how/why something as simple as one hole on a Mustang gasket that the RS engine doesn't want/need can cause the RS engine to warp itself into oblivion...

    New car time bmw 140

Nice. I've grown to really appreciate these. A mate has the 440 and he's now got the M performance exhaust on it...sounds immense. I should be getting a good go in it soon. For a slush 'box it's incedible. Pictures? Rotating your phone 90 degrees before shooting will do actual wonders.

    RS - Feel the Need

If it was metallic and they kept the blue calipers I genuinely would have found it hard not to order one. As it is though, and even considering the exclusivity of it...no ta.

    RS - Feel the Need

If it's properly fixed, as I believe it is, then it'll still have full Ford warranty. I'm not like so many others worrying about if it's going to start leaking again, I'm just enjoying driving it, a lot. If it does happen again, Ford will deal with it again. Grr, I'm starting to convince myself.

    RS - Feel the Need

Not at all...I'm not sure why it would appear so. My case has progressed with Ford CRC, I'm getting a call back from them on Monday...I'll be asking for everything. Mmmmm. If only. I've sworn to myself not to buy more wheels, from past experience, it's the top of a very slippery slope. In...

    RS - Feel the Need

The early part of those 90 day charts above, where all the lines are really low...that was earning me £20-£30 per month. Since the beginning of this engine failure episode I've been averaging £20-£30 a day LOL

    RS - Feel the Need

Nothing as yet. I still haven't yet called Ford CRC to ask what I'm going to get from them to support and document the change on my now non-original RS. I've seen today something technical from Ford on a 'cross drilled' something or other on the engine that looks like it's going to be rolled...

So, yeah, it's back after a super speedy turnaround from Ford...
  15. Tighten My Nuts

    RS - Feel the Need

I did convince myself that mine wasn't running quite right, I was convinced I'd see something different between the before and after dyno power runs that would back that thought up. When that showed no such thing I looked through all of my fuel logs looking for something but again found...

    RS - Feel the Need

Nope. Apart from the misfire on startup and the dwindling coolant level it performed exactly as it always did. Popped and banged when I'd expect it to, used as much fuel as it normally did, and traced the same curve at the rolling road. As I said in my video I think the 'problem' is only a...
  17. Tighten My Nuts

    RS - Feel the Need

LOLs Nope, no back doors. I like the slightly chavvy but still classy (in my colour) RS just fine. It's also now been posted on an Australian petrol head site in a "here's some news that really isn't news, but someone else reported on it as if it is news, so maybe it actually is news, so...

    RS - Feel the Need

I'm really not and I have zero desire to be so. As for the article, it's actually nothing new at all...they've just cobbled together some old news and, for reasons unknown to me, have chosen to reference my specific video. It's generated a bit of online debate though...and a lot of brand...

    RS - Feel the Need

So this happened a few hours ago... https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/ford-focus-rs-engine-problem-confirmed-cause-white-smoke It had nothing to do with me! I'm only aware of it because someone posted it in a comment on one of my recent videos...I'm enjoying watching the spike in...

    RS - Feel the Need

It's meant to have enough revisions to make them properly watertight. Time will tell if they've got that right. There's meant to be a Feb 18 recall coming along to address for all owners so I'd seriosly doubt if they're about to commit to that project that they still haven't ironed out the bugs...

    '86 MK2 Golf GTI - Resto job.

Wow. Lurvely. Seeing that looking that good makes me feel 16 again.

    RS - Feel the Need

I am going to go with the datalog every single rpm and mile from day one with this one. Annoyingly I'll have to collect it during work time so I won't be able to get everything wired in until I get home on on whatever evening it is this week. Missing the first 15 miles upsets me. At least its...

...and surprisingly exactly on schedule. High fives all round tbqfh.
  24. Tighten My Nuts

    RS - Feel the Need

I see it as fantastic news! I'm back to zero miles on my engine and it's come with a whole load of new parts and revisions...and hopefully a full fix to the problem of the leaking coolant...I'm still working on trying to find that out for sure though.
  25. Tighten My Nuts

    RS - Feel the Need

The new engine is in! Exactly on schedule which is promising. I haven't seen it yet, it has to be road tested first which should be happening on Monday but, subject to no teething troubles with it, I should have it back early next week.

    Sky Q in different Room

I'd call them up and check what you were told again...I have no idea why they're charging you a per month fee for the extra boxes...a big major selling point of Sky Q is that you can add extra rooms for no ongoing charges, just the one off hardware and/or setup fee...well it was when we signed...
  27. Tighten My Nuts

    Sky Q in different Room

They're not billing you £12 per month for the multi room, as said above by others, you buy the hardware, the service is free. The £12 a month is for the upgrade to Sky Q itself.

    RS - Feel the Need

They genuinely have little awareness of my YT expolits...but they've been seeing me regularly for Fiesta, C-Max, and RS work over the last two years. I'm calm, polite, and much as you may not believe this, to the point about what I want and expect. They're just acting in the way that anyone...
