Not true, Michelin Pilot Exaltos are not directional and they're not cheap.
Tyres are either asymetric (sp?) or directional.
Directional have to rotate in a particular direction (arrow indicates direction)
Asymetric have to have one side of the tyre on the outside of the car (one side of...
On my Cup it was the last mod I did after foam panel filter, new ECU, K-tec catback exhaust.
If I started from scratch again, the decat would be the first mod without question.
Nice :approve:
I had a 1.9TD 306 GLX, "played" with by Van Aaken.
Standard suspension so a squidgy soft setup, but it handled superbly and gripped like it had no right to. Huge fun around wet roundabouts.
The GTI-6 must be fantastic...I'd love to take one on track.
I had to run that setup around Bedford to get it to fade...before that I couldn't fault them.
You've got a problem elsewhere.
I've no idea where though.
I regularly drop from 3rd to 2nd at about 55mph or so, maybe even a little higher at times
Double de-clutching makes it easier to get it into the lower gear, and a heel/toe blip smooths things out when you bring the clutch back up.

I think it's oil temperature related.
The temp guage on your dash is for the water temperature - the water/coolant heats up quicker than the oil as far as I'm aware.
The grinding I hear every morning/night, is the rust being cleared from the discs. A few solid decent length braking attempts is usually enought to clear mine.
Check your discs before you drive next time...see if they're rusty.
I don't think the issue of it being tracked is relevant.
Mine has had a very hard life both on and off track, yet I've religously maintained it, and it's been nothing but A1 from new and for almost all of its 78,000 miles.
Your gut feeling on the buyer and the car's past is what you need to...
Evo ran a piece a while back comparing a Crescent Suzuki 1100 against a Lambo Mercialago (sp?) I think, around Silverstone.
If I recall correctly, the bike whupped the Lambo's fat ass.
...just what my 172 Cup is capable of.
Stayed over at the NEC for the last two days as we were exhibiting, drove there and back in the Cup, 170 miles each way.
A34 was a nightmare, two contra-flows, with 2-4 miles of queueing on each of them in both directions.
Trip computer was reset...
