Think its down to the diff, you'll find if you got both front wheels jacked up and u rotated one clockwise, then the other would turn anti clockwise. But if you try to turn both in the same direction at the same time, then they would lock

Are the jms kit and v6 boxes completely different or are they similar? Just wondering if its worth the extra for the jms kit over a v6 box from a scrappy?

Did yours do it all the time mate or only once the engine had warmed up a bit?
Mine sounds fine when the car is completely cold ie its not moved for a few days

I used to get this on my old mondeo and was lead to believe that if the engine stood for a day or two then the lifters would drain, then they would fill back up when you started the engine but they would tap for a second or two then clear...
Well my 172 is making the dreaded noisy diesel sound. My first thoughts were obviously dephaser pulley but after reading up on here I'm not so sure now. is it possible that a lifter has gone? The annoying 'tick' is there throughout the Rev range, whereas am I right in thinking with the dephaser...
