I cant remember the last time I actively wanted to go out & buy a brand new car, but I think the fiesta has hit the 'fun' nail on the head. Its like the spiritual successor to this old thing, my 1.6si I had from 18-21 .... cost f*ck all to run and just gave you what you need from a car, smiles.
More understeer.
Essentially, the stiffer the rear is in relation to the front, the less understeer you will get. On a clio, soft front/hard rear is good, hence why Whitelines are so popular.
If Ktec are so great, why didn't they renew their trader membership on the UK's largest Clio website/forum/club?
Personally, unless you've got cams that need mapping specifically, id just go with a Fastchip 98 Ron map.
Anything else is utterly pointless on a clio. You simply wont notice 1bhp.
Its purely because you can buy one, mess about with it for a few months, get bored, then break it for considerably more than you bought it for in the 1st place. What other car can you do that with consistently? Not including flipping Saxos & 106's lol ...
Keeps us all out of mischief etc.
I...
AAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH.
They're bloody RAINsport's lol.
What happens when the F1 cars use intermediates on a dry track? They overheat and are useless.
Holy cow, im off for a walk around the garden.
Cant say i'm surprised to be honest, although tbf to Renault, the 1st versions of their hot hatches are also pretty below par, the 197 & 225 got poor reviews, then slowly morphed into the 200 and R26. In 3 years time, the 200T will be a manual, with less weight and more power. Ill consider one then.
I had Hankook V12 Evos on that day! Mike and I spent most of the day drifting round the last corner, playing with LOOS.
As you say, a very progressive tyre, one of my favs i think, purely as the grip level is not obscene, so allows a good level of fun.
My favourite tyres ever are...
I used to use T1Rs Nick, mega cheap and fine wear wise if you're smooth, Hankook v12 evos are also good imho.
That was with -3 on the front -1.8 on the back, parallel toe.
I used to get 300-350 to a tank in the 182.
The R32 on the other hand averaged 8.9mpg on the way to work this morning as I just sat in a traffic jam for an hour.
Nope, which I why I didn't make my comment specific to clio's ;)
I owned a 182 Trophy with a hydraulic rack, & a 197 Cup with an electric rack at the same time. I sold the 197 after 3 weeks.
Its not pointlessly insulting at all, you currently have an epic spec 172 cup, on utterly sh1t tyres...
