Admin charge is £17.50 (+ whatever the premium change is), number plate is £80, HPI/Glass is £20, petrol to view, well that does depend i suppose, then train fair to collect is usually less than £50. Advert costs are free (PH & here), & been lucky with viewings in that nobody has ever gone away...
Its no real secret what i do though really, i just buy as close to trade price as i can get away with (usually 15-20% less than retail), then sell up when the realistic private sale price has depreciated to within a few hundred pounds of the original 'trade price' that i bought the car at -...
That'll be the mechatronic unit. Can fail at any time really, but it does give a few tell tales that its dying, ie unwillingness to change gear, jumping into 1st when pulling away etc. DSG oil change every 40k helps avoid the issue.
From VW, the part alone is circa £1500. However a company...
Oh Joe :dapprove:
That poor Emfwee. Sell it to me so i can save it?
With Silvervisions, this would have been perfect:
Now you look like you're from Bradford:
MOT records should go back prior to 2009 for this one.
My bet is that somebody has changed the instrument cluster & its done rather a few more miles than the seller says it has ...
Meh, DSG 3.2 VAGs are for gays iirc.
Avus silver is lovely, although it is a little too close to Peugeot's manstone blue for my liking ... Easy for detailing though, so not entirely what you'll do with your weekends now you wont be cleaning the car for 8 hours a day!!! Eat more deep fried...
Yeah, usually take Sarah's TT there for the more complicated stuff, that i cant be bothered to do ;)
Ended up being £475, cheaper than quoted, which is always nice. Although i do hate spending money on things that i cant see and/or feel any difference for doing though!!! Then i noticed that my...
Horrific mpg lol. And you struggle to get 250 miles out of the tank as well - sod that :dead:
I actually prefer the looks of the normal e60 Sport as well, so think i'd almost be tempted to go for a manual 550i over the M5 ...
R32 is currently at my local specialist for DSG/Haldex oil & filter...
About 3k miles from memory, two trips home to Penzance, one to Cardiff then a few work miles as well :(
Was great while it lasted, got loads of VPower points at least ...
One of the originals, havent tried one of them specifically, but Sarah's brothers MCS is quite fun - does have silly cams, obscene boost & nigh on 250bhp though, so it does drive slightly differently to a 'normal' one.
I think its the rarity of the Gp that appeals, & the residuals of course -...
lol. Thats brilliant!! Quite true as well ... :o
I'd be tempted to try a Mini Works GP as well tbh. That was on my list of cars to buy this time round.
Im not having a go by the way, my experience was that speeds up to 65ish, the 197/200 is very similar to the 1*2, but anything above that and it really tails off due to the low gearing/excessive weight. Thats based on based on a 90 mile a day private road commute, so averaging circa 75-85 leptons.
I think my problem was that the interior fit, finish & quality was simply too poor to warrant the cost of the car - for a daily driver anyway. My 197 also averaged 29mpg, which was the same as the M3 i had previously. A clio for me, is a cheap, fun car, with minimal running costs, so having to...
I test drove a 200 non-cup, then a 200 cup, then bought a 197 Cup (to replace my Trophy). It was sold after 3 weeks.
Not as good as the Trophy if you are after 100% fun, but better as a day to day proposition.
However, when you are thinking about one as a day to day proposition, the dire mpg...
Lucky to get out of that one unscathed!!
As above though, whilst the gut instinct says to swerve, unless its a horse/cow/elephant, its usually better to just take out the animal.
Like i said in Le Mans, everything goes down hill when you get to 30 ;)
Re: comparison to a 330i, cant say i ever actually just took any of them out for a drive down any back roads lol, but they are very capable cars, i just always felt that thethey were more suited to faster sweeping A roads...
