That's a lot of miles mate. Can you fit the gearbox yourself? If it's going to cost a lot I'd just scrap it, you can claim money back on the tax as well. When the head gasket blow on my old Mk1 Prima I sold it to the garage for £300 and cut my losses and bought a new car.
