you can get hammerite smooth from halfords or diy places like focus,b&q etc
costs about a fiver for a big tin, once the calipers are prepped paint and wait for 1hour for the paint to go tacky then reapply :) i did 4 coats with mine

from marks experience he says its better to paint the silver over afterwards rather than mask off the original silver
im not too sure matey but mark did a great job on spraying mine, the layer of pearl really sparkles.
did u get the 2 part liquid yellow paint? ie the yellow can and the pearl 'flip' can or did yours just come as one colour?
when i fitted my inlets i just needed the gaskets for between the plenum and inlet and the bottom part of the inlet and the main bit of the engine
so if you were just swapping the plenum for the polished one then you only need the 1 gasket
motorworld do a black or silver alloy pipe, its around 15quid for a metre and a bit and it flexible as well as very strong
its really good stuff and very strong so it wont crumple like some of the cheaper pipes u can get
if its just the join between the plenium and inlet then i would try taking off the plenum checking the gasket and then putting it back on. it could be something simple like the bolts not being tight enough or summut?
when u put the polished one on i would get a new gasket tho as they are...
