You and me both. Only reason I did was dad asked me to do the R8, so figured it was a perfect "location" to do tests. No photos of side by side, it was for my own interest. Might have some basic photos somewhere that I can dig out, but it will just be of a clean exhaust... lol.
Wheels won't be coming off, I meant to post that mine will be being done so will have the products out/in the mind to do wheels, so yours won't take long. FYI the R8 is the same apparently, but have jacked that up a few times with no issues.
Laura, bring it over. I'm home from the 18th evening and will have mine up on stilts to do my own wheels. More than happy to have a coffee/catch up and do the Aston wheels. Won't take long (might need you to buy some IronX however, as think I'll need some more to do both sets).

Try cleaning it first. Think how much grime certain areas of your car build up - steering wheel, gear knob etc. They are one of the most hand-used areas of your car. You may find the "coating" that's coming off is actually just dirt.
AutoFinesse Citrus cleaner or a mild APC of any kind. They...
I would personally build your own kit. Email Matt@I4D or the boys @ CYC to ask if you could build your own kit and get a discount on buying pads, polishes and the machine together.
Don't forget you'll need a spot backing plate and spot pads for the A/B pillars, as well as tape and all prep...
Agreed Chattters.
Personal experience, of course I get that, but very surprised. Side by side test with AF Mercury and Autosol on a four exhaust car showed massively different results after using the same pressure, technique, MF only etc.
Glad you've done an introduction as well as putting your name to the section, James.
Presume you also offer a ClioSport/Forum discount code, like I4D etc?
James has been suitably clever and paid CS to sponsor this section. Good move. But only because I work in advertising and like his style
Edit; that's a guess by the way, I don't know anything about the cost/deal/if there was a cost etc
More so for those of us unable to wash their cars on a weekly or even monthly basis. My car sits for weeks without being driven, usually dirty (Carbon is not bad, Glasur is better). One rain pass makes little difference, but if this wax could counter that, I'd be very interested.
None of the photos in this thread are of the headlights in direct sun/other source of light. So no, of course you can't see the marks that the 500 grit has left behind.
I guarantee you will not get the 500 grit marks out of the plastic headlights of a Clio.
But then again, it's not my car :)...
Thanks for that. Ill think of something else that 500 grit should be used for as a comparison.
Having been in detailing for a long time, once again, 500 grit is far too coarse.
We've given you answers to everything you've asked.
You started the thread on a public forum, we answered. We then showed concerns that you're not only "doing it how you've always done it" on your own car (incorrectly as we've pointed out), but also on other people's cars.
We didn't start a...
Rolling roaded at 288, but AMD is known for being a little on the positive side. I'd be happy with 270's. Pre boost leak it was kicking out 218+g/m2 on the VCDS logs, which equates to 273bhp (not sure why I'm going into so much detail in your Aston thread...)
I had one fitted as part of the Badger5 TIP setup and map. Took it off as soon as I got home and re-fitted the standard box with a green cotton filter lol.
Nice results JB, failing anything coming up after IPA wipedown.
Recently reaslised the only plus point to not being able to wash the Panzer is that there will be no marring! Two months since a decent detail, protection still going strong, rain cleans it, not swirls!
We comment because you "have the gear but no idea" so could be causing damage to other people's cars, giving the detailing world a bad name...
Simple question, are you charging other people? This thread states "today I am doing my own car for once"...?!
Chap, don't get defensive, but you don't know what you're doing. You sealed over a wax. And in your other thread you're intent on detailing a high value car while questioning how to treat a soft top? Walk before you run and all that!
