yeah the mk3's have stronger gearboxes so have more torque, if you look at a RR print out of a standard dci100 you will notice it hits its max torque of 148lbft and then the graph flattens out and it has a flat torque graph untill it starts dropping off because its limited, and you can feel it...

mk3s feel slower than they are not because of the weight but because of the size, my mum has a 1.2 16v mk3 and it feels mega slow even compaired to mk2 1.2 16vs but in reality its really just the same! think they have shorter ratios to make them accelerate slightly quicker to offset the weight...

my first one had done 155k before it broke for the first time lol 100 isnt gave any problems either and ive put 6k hardish miles on it in 3 months

need to disagree with you there, while it may not make a big difference in a straight line "race" the numbers dont tell the full story i only gained 15bhp and 15lbft with my mods but the difference to the way it drives is unbeleivable it may only pull 4 or 5 car lenghts by 145mph on a standard...

RS stamped manifolds are better but still not good by any means some of them even RS ones all differ
