im from stirling too mate and id be VERY interested in meeting up to check it out mate ive been wanting one for a while now just never had the balls to spend the money on one as now im running 190bhp and 160lb/ft hard acceleration out tight bends is causing me to light up the inside wheel!
sad to see it go mate but atleast your moving on to bigger or better things, i had my 172 up for sale had a few test drives in an evo, r32 gtr skyline and going for one in a 350z but after a sale of the 172 fell thru ive decided to keep it as i really do think its an awesome car i just KNOW i...
yep thats the one.
65mpg+
£35 a year road tax
cheap insurance
similar performance to a 1.4 16v petrol clio
better suspension and steering setup than the 1.2 16v
probably RS Tuning unless anyone closer to home can do it, but doesnt seem to be much choice up here other than superchips who arnt giving the gains i want.
yeah the mk3's have stronger gearboxes so have more torque, if you look at a RR print out of a standard dci100 you will notice it hits its max torque of 148lbft and then the graph flattens out and it has a flat torque graph untill it starts dropping off because its limited, and you can feel it...
mk3s feel slower than they are not because of the weight but because of the size, my mum has a 1.2 16v mk3 and it feels mega slow even compaired to mk2 1.2 16vs but in reality its really just the same! think they have shorter ratios to make them accelerate slightly quicker to offset the weight...
yeah mate the 100 i would avoid if its used for the sole purpous i use mine for and thats as a 2nd car to save cash, the 65 was better for that, this is a better warm hatch, and a lot of people laugh when i call it a warm hatch but it is hugely capable as i proved at the last cliosport meet and...
like i said in your other thread mate try your hardest to save up and pay it all off in one go makes the year ahead so much easier thats what i done and went from paying £260 a month to 0 a month for insurance, yeah i was skint for 2 months to save it up but gave me much more money for the other...
yes mate when i got my 100 i felt it was pretty slow untill i realised i need to be doing 4000rpm gear changes compaired to the 3000rpm changes i was doing in the 65.
ive never driven an 80 but since it has the same turbo as a 65 i assume its much the same just with a bigger kick due to more...
yes because most cars of the same size and similar weight go about the same when one has 30bhp and 50lb/ft more, have you ever driven a 1.2? my 172 doesnt even feel torquey compaired to my dci lol
need to disagree with you there, while it may not make a big difference in a straight line "race" the numbers dont tell the full story i only gained 15bhp and 15lbft with my mods but the difference to the way it drives is unbeleivable it may only pull 4 or 5 car lenghts by 145mph on a standard...
