Had it a couple of weeks now...
Yeah, would love the PSE as standard it sounds... meh. Engine note is ok, but just not loud enough. Will have the Elise ready soon to be my loud weekend car though.
Tried getting ones from Porsche, but they don't do them. Likewise, you can't get front parking sensors or folding mirrors.
Biggest bugbear is that it has electric seats (an option) but doesn't have heated seats (also an option). Pretty measly on a car that cost over £80k new...
Went down to the Porsche centre at Silverstone for a fitness assessment, which was a perfect excuse to take the new car for a long trip to get to know it!
It is a Carrera S, but a tiptronic. I tried the PDK which was awesome, and much more performance orientated. Second hand ones are barely...
Yeah. Few of those beemers look better from a distance! Although to be fair, the Elise's paintwork is shabby...
Currently we have a Quaife. Which is crap. Will change at end of season!
Last weekend i was at Snett for the next round of the GT Cup. With the NSX having an engine fire in the last race, the cobwebs were blown from the Elise.
On Friday i did a bit of testing in the car, which was on Pirelli slicks opposed to the Dunlops as used by Britcar. They are a couple of...
Poor wheels and colour IMO! I think overall the car is too fussy, the previous TT made far much more of an impact.
For me the Cayman is the obvious choice.
Not sure. Have a feeling the front bumper and sideskirts are Wings West, which are old school. The rear bumper and flared arches are newer. Recognise them but don't know what they are off the top of my head.
Love both of those. The R32 has a built for purpose feel going on...
Love the look of this RX7. Wouldn't have white wheels but otherwise, spot on.
Don't like these as much, but will share them anyway...
CSL bumper is a lot deeper, so in the flesh the car looks meaner. I personally think it's a good thing, but everyone's different i guess.
At the end of the day, must be a reason why all the E92 bodykits are a rip off of the E46 CSLs...
Yeah, swapping top mounts would clear the issue, with a certain amount of camber.
Don't vinyl the roof! My mate's done it on her M3 and it looks crap. Unless you get it lacquered i suppose, but even so, don't see the point in faking CF.
Anyway, good job. Must have cost a fair whack. Do you...
It feeds the massive intake, which is what makes the awesome noise! At the end of the day, it's function over form and one of the most distinctive features of the CSL.
Odd how no one even mentioned it when i posted photos of mine!
Nice work! Are they genuine parts or Vorsteiner gear?
As you were changing everything, you should have gone for rear wheels all round! You just swap over the front top mounts and bingo, epic stance.
Looks great fun....got to love historics and their shocking tyres! I've had a go in a mates old Lotus Elan and they are just never in a straight line.
TBH, it's not particularly heroic driving, it's just what historics do. The cars are slow with no grip.
Seeing as you say you only come on here for the Spotted section, i should probably mention that i saw you the other day at the lights, near Ewell i think
