It's honestly not that hard mate, just support the sump with a plank of wood between it and the jack, then undo the cam cover and engine mount, then fit the new one and stick everything back on. For the upper gearbox mount, support the gearbox in the same way, battery out, undo the mount, mine...

The main difference is the Mk1 Ford Cortina is £5k and the Mk1 Lotus Cortina is £45k. Both cool a f*ck though. :cool:

If I was 19 and had to get myself rolling, i'd be getting an old Mini with a 1275 engine, it looks cool, it's quick(ish) and it's easier to insure as it's under 1.3L.

If you remove the rear seats you have to remove the rear seat belts too, I have to put my rear seats back in every MOT time because it would fail based on the fact that it has seat belts but no seats. More than one MOTer has told me that over the years.
