boys and girls that was it
Although I accessed the flap by removing the scuttle panel- it is located near the fan but further back, but easy to reach by hand. Mine was almost closed and thus blocked to the recirc position. I started the car, turned on the climate and pressed the recirc button...
Exactly- this is why it confuses me- as it looks like the AC system should take care of the issue but it doesn't. But I'm about to dive into it these days and will come back with the results
But even if something in the AC is system is at fault, it still does not explain why I leave the car perfectly dry and the next day I find the windscreen completely frozen on the inside- so theoretically there has to be some stagnant humidity inside the car somewhere. I'm confused to say the least
there is one more thing I found out about recently but never heard of the clio comunity discuss about: it's something that's called AC dryer filter or some sort- it looks like a tiny bulb on the AC piping under the hood. Some guy said he replaced that filter on his bmw and it cured the problem...
the boot is bone dry, so not there. The AC works at every temparature, I have the car for 20 years now, has seen -20 celsius and worked fine in the past
Hi, same issue one year later. Only this time it's even worse- I found the inside of the windscreen completely frozen. The AC works but even after 30 mins of driving the windows are barely de-fogged. Pollen filter is ok. Driver's carpet (it's an LHD car) is only slightly moist, not sure yet if...
standard timing yes. I have a lumpy idle and I suspect it runs a litle rich so thought to check the timing too beside the rest. Well it always had a lumpy idle but now it's kinda lumpier than before
Hi,
So I want to do a timing check on my 182, as far as I know the procedure is like this: remove camshaft end caps to expose the grooves
Rotate the crank until the pin slots in the correct hole on the crank and see if the horseshoe tool slots in the cams with ease.
The thing is my 182 had an...
Mine were refurbed 2 years ago and at the begining it was fine, now the outer disc edge started to rust again, like there's no contact with the pad there. It's so annoying. I have a theory on thist though: the car sits outside so moisture creeps on that area, slightly eats the metallic compound...
Hi there,
I just opened one of my headlights the other day due to one of the supports being snapped and boy it was probably the most difficult thing I ever did on the car. The factory glue that holds the unit together is almost heat resistant but anyway.. I managed to repair the damage, put it...
Yeah I know they're not a track pad but I don't have a track car either. I visit the track 2 max 3 times per year (unfortunately) and I don't abuse the brakes. I have some guys that do multiple laps on them without issues, I was thanking that maybe I did/do something wrong somewhere
Hi,
After the last trackdays the pads lay an uniform deposit on the discs which also causes a light judder.
I have the 197 brembo conversion with ds2500 pads and 300mm scenic brembo discs (which are new). I like to think that I bed in the pads properly.
I only do 2 max 3 laps on a 4km track and...
Hi,
As I have a friend with a NA Miata and he was looking for a big brake kit, I've seen they also provide that kit with the Clio 197 calipers and 280mm discs.
Nice thing is that the discs they sell are re-drilled 280x28mm thick discs from a Nissan Almera Tino which is 5x114,3 as standard.
I...
also I'm starting to question wether I should get some ferodo ds performance rear pads (I'm running the brembo 197 calipers on the front with 300mm discs and ds2500 pads) to balance the braking performance as some say that a step above road cheap pads on the rear makes some difference
I would buy the poworflex arb inner and outer bushes, don't be afraid that the car will feel rough- it isn't. They're just gonna last you a long time- worth it
me again with an update:
So I decided to finally machine some proper caliper brackets, and because I didn't want to hassle with drilling the calipers to make some "pms style" brackets for the 280mm discs that I have- I went to the 300mm disc route so I took the necessary measurements, made the...
Hi everyone,
So this time of the year is foggy windows back again.
Did a search on this subject but looks like I covered most common issues so far:
AC works spot on, changed some seals couple of days ago, did a refill and leak test and it's fine.
Pollen filter is nice and clean and dry
I can't...
I always apply ceratec on all contact points but that didn't help. When I'll get some proper brackets I'll do the spring clip trick that you said, but I'm hoping the brackets are the issue here and once I get new ones I'll get rid of this
Thx!
