Oh! I remember! It was @imprezaworks . Totally came back to me....out of the blue....no nudge required or anything......
It was his fine selection of waxes 😎
Morning guys! Home straight of correction today. Then its onto sealing it all up.
Of the selection I've got above, anyone have any suggestions as to which to go for? I appreciate different waxes do different things (to an extent) but any suggestions are helpful 🤘
75% is still a massive achievement on a black car. The difference must be huge!
It's hot here too (sussex) and I'm getting properly red. Keep coming inside and getting laughed at 😂.
Post some pics when it's all waxed up 👍
I'm using a hex logic green pad (medium/ light polish) with meguiars ultimate compound. I found it to be a nice balance between getting the swirls removed without going too nuts. It's also the heaviest pad I've got lol.
I'm not getting that much dust tbh. Keeping the working area in the shade...
Its cos everyone's got the time haha! Cheers, I'm honestly chuffed. This is the first serious correction I've done and I'm happy with the results. Still need to polish it up but its going well. I've also just found a section on the bonnet I must have missed 🙈
Cutting is going well. Really wish I had bought more pads but that's life!
Nearly finished with the bonnet and the passenger side of the car. Slow progress but I'm taking my time
Just found some Autoglym "Extra Gloss Protection" Sealant I got given for xmas. Anyone used this? Recommends it after polishing (I assume to lock in any fillers) but as im not sure of Meguiars Ultimate Polish has any fillers, is this useful?
Can you wax over the top?
(Yes, I know, I want to wax...
Fully decon'd the car. Clay bar and tar removal (surprised at the amount of tar!). Washed twice. Managed to cut and polish the bonnet as was experimenting with different compounds. Absolutely shagged now. Roll on tomorrow for a quick wash again as being left outside over night. Then cut and...
Advice needed. As you can see, I've achieved quite a fair correction (in my opinion) and I'm pretty pleased considering this is the first time ive really given this a shot. The second image is after. Should I continue to try and achieve full correction or just go to polish now? I'm not hunting...
Is Gyeon wet coat a good base for applying a wax on top of? Dont normally wax so but since I got a bunch off someone on here I'm down to give some a try
Got this stuff from ECP when it was about £5 a bottle. Tested it on my new (to me) car after a spray decon only and its beading its nuts off 3 weeks later. Considering Meguiars is over £20 a bottle now, this is a total bargain and wished I had bought 4 😂
Any advice on the whole 'buying the same product just rebranded' situation? Obviously none of us want to be buying the same stuff if it's no different with our hard earned £
I understand. It was a totally fair comment as I said. Not disputing you clearly know your stuff! I was just a bit taken aback is all 😂 .
I honestly love this section and detailing in general. Since changing cars it's why I've stuck with this forum. It's full of seriously helpful people...
I can also testify to this (not that you need me to 😂). Found a video and tried it next time I was cleaning the car. Was really impressive! Almost didnt need a drying towel
Well, I can only apologise. As I said, I was quoting another forum that I had read. This is what this section is all about, is it not?
I get where you are coming from but instead of saying how much you dislike a section, why not make it a better place?
Nobody knows everything as I think I've...
CarPro Perl - what ratios do you guys use for interior bits? I've got nearly a litre mixed up of 1:3 so hoping that will be good. Gave the whole interior a go with some interior shampoo from autoglym. Brought everything up nice and smells good. Just want to dress it all now :)
I consulted a bmw based forum on just this question. I got the following answer give or take:
BMW paint isnt necessarily hard. Some even argued it was soft. I guess that's a matter of opinion!
One thing that was mentioned was that it does have quite a thick clear coat which is very reassuring...
That was my hope after someone posted a pic of theirs tbh. It's a 'clean and shiny' branded one and I was under the impression theirs were Das just rebranded. Who knows 🤪
