    ARP rod bolts upgrade

Probably a good idea, I've got them for the grinder but wouldn't be able to fit it in the gap. Will invest. Got this as a pattern part from frogjam, there's quite a few sharp burrs on the inside I'll probably take off while I'm at it.

    ARP rod bolts upgrade

Still not managed to get my sump off, need to borrow a crane so I can remove the flywheel and cut the offending bolt off. So currently have Schrödinger's windage tray. Both the right one and the wrong. How did the modification to your tray go? Also I started to hack up a new sump (assuming my...

    Ph1 revival

tiny update mainly to move my project thread to the top of the list, make sure you dont forget about me init! Really I'm just waiting for the weather to improve before getting back to work. Decided I'm going to do a bit of work on the bottom end. Ideally I would have done this before I rebuilt...

Theft deterrents - steering wheel locks, etc.

Maybe he was just interest? I've been trying to work out if I want 19" or 20" wheels for my Audi and have frequently stopped by others to see what wheel/tyre they're running. Might get shouted at at some point.

Wow this is mega! Makes me feel like going back and doing mine properly!

Advice needed for my Clios future

If you go for b14 you won't need springs in addition. I think your biggest headache will be compatibility. The RS has completely different front geometry and I think the non-RS version use different bolt spacing for the shock absorbers so I don't think you can fit RS shocks to your hubs...

    KevC's 172 PH1

Im starting to get worried that with all of these ph1 rescue projects the value of them is going to tank ;) Amazing work on the rust! i feel like this is probably on the horizon for me when I get all of the mechanicals sorted

Theft deterrents - steering wheel locks, etc.

This has always been my attitude. Pretty sure every model of car will have a slightly different theft process and learning one for a seemingly old clio wouldn't be worth the investment, at the end of the day it's all a risk vs reward business and I can't see how it would tot up against a range...

    Titanium Ph1 172

Looks amazing! Would love to have all the body works on mine tidied up! Hard to justify when your build is purely meant to be a track build though.

    Cat cams exhaust pulley stud

Not sure how useful it is as the pulleys are different but this is mine using catcams and the catcams stud. How thick is the OEM exhaust pulley? Could it be that the stud is designed to be used only with the catcams pulleys?

    Mk 2 Phase 1 pictures please,all colours

I like how you can so visibly see the difference in the picture quality over the years!! This was my ph1 back in 2008! Drove terribly being so low!

    Oil pressure gauge feed

https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/mocal-billet-sandwich-plate-for-sender-fitment-m-tgasp200x I believe its this one i bought! didnt really want to risk gearbox leaks from an ebay special. My only gripe with it is some of hex fixings on the side demands imperial allen sizes.😤

    Oil pressure gauge feed

right yeh i get you now! sorry i thought you meant replacing the original sensor. I guess the only problem you have is making sure you're not hitting anything else, the pressure transducers are fairly chunky. I went for the sandwich plate alternative.

    Oil pressure gauge feed

so the switch default to off in the event of an open circuit? As the wiring for the original oil pressure sensor will just have to dange? unless to bridge the connection maybe?

    Oil pressure gauge feed

Does this not throw an oil pressure warning light on the clocks?

    Titanium Ph1 172

So many ph1s loitering at the top of the projects forum!, if only the weather was nicer I'd do a token job to bump mine to the top to join you guys. An early example too. Will be following.

    ARP rod bolts upgrade

If the weather a bit better I'd go and get my sump off to confirm if its a ph1 thing. Unfortuatley I've started renovating my hallway so clio will not be getting a lookin for a couple of months probably.

    172 PH1 refresh - X424 UYD

Thanks dude! for what it's worth I feel pretty out my depth with it too! "while I'm at it" is such a dangerous mantra and now I just have to keep moving forward with it!! I'm sure it'll be fine in the end, and if not I'll try again :D

    Brembo upgrade worth it?

I believe im running 20mm spacers with these. Callipers need to get machined down slightly also. No idea what is needed for the 2118s though, but i know its possible.

Fabrication is sadly not within my repetoir, I'm a humble pencil pusher by trade. Would be amazing if someone on here wanted to put a few together wouldnt it!

    Sump bolts

classic, well do we at least know the treaded section length for the standard bolt? Based on this picture I would say 20mm, (1x thread pitch and 20 threads... slow day at work). The lead in feature will just be to help alignment for assembly.

I mean that offers a bit of reassurance. Also, does anyone know if anyone on here made the little bit that adapts the larger oil pump?

    ARP rod bolts upgrade

Scope creep is a great term, and very appropriate. Annoyingly my fabrication skills leave a lot to be desired, so may reach out to PMS and see if they'll sell me just the custom made bit, unfortunately if not I will just have to buy the whole kit. Happy to go at my sump with a grinder at...

    Ph1 revival

I think you actually posted on my other tread @Mertin re ARP bolts. I initially was going to leave the bottom end alone but have decided now that I am going to drop the sump and replace the bolts. Potentially the oil pump at the same time as this appears to help the low oil pressure issue...

    ARP rod bolts upgrade

Looks like the PMS kit has an extra little part to it. Does this mean you can't just order the pump from Renault? The cost difference between that and the PMS part is significant.

Interesting, do you have a part number or a model that it's from?
