My brothers is on 45k and the gearbox is fine imo. Love these cars. Only negative is the light clutch and steering, but you soon get used to it.

It sounds very harsh that your premium has gone up so much, the only way it would go up so much is if you've lost your NCD really. Did you get the re-quoted premium before your the other guys insurer admitted liability? PM me if you want mate, don't like talking insurance on the forum :o
