Agreed mate. Air seems to be a killer. I had the Frp doing 12mpg due to a split breather hose somewhere. My Dad mentioned the car would simply be throwing in fuel like mad. Drove like a different car afterwards.

The paintwork looks shockingly bad. Never mind the bird poo etching. Also beware, lime etching does etch into the lacquer and whilst removable in a lot of cases, it can show up later. Lacquer has a memory and marks, just like flattening marks from sanding can come back after polishing...
