Sent the Kangoo and r26 gearknobs and gaitors off for retrim to Otto Retrims recently. Received them back this week, fresh nappa leather.
Had a spare hour on Sat so stuck the kangoo gaitor and knob on.
Looks mega, and the new supplied gear gaitor frame otto sourced for me actually...
Updates.
Todays job was to give the clio dci's a clean up. Ive been using the orange dci this week as the blue one is currently parked due to heater matrix starting to leak. Ive got a nissens one to fit this time but cant be fucked this week, full days work to remove/refit dash so can sit a...
Datalog the wheel speeds on clip and try a combo of turning, see whats going on. If its saying wheel speed itll be related to that, id be looking at the reluctor ring.
Shorts & gloves for life. Id have been wearing a gym vest if it was a few degrees warmer😄
Helmet is a good shout. The bosch 044 fuel pump is pure tinnitus, might drown that fcuker out. Ive worn earplugs on longer journeys but the mrs called me a fanny for it
Updates.
Extra van mot'd and taxed again yesterday.
Took it for a run out as weather was good, and done around 60 miles to whitby and back. All is good and working well. Nice to get it back out.
Thanks for reading!!
Bare in mind if using a sleeve to fit the seal you will need to make sure the depth is correct/in square. Easier said than done defo, ive done them on less fussy stuff with a bottle cut in half but f4r is a fussy one on location.
At a wild guess check the lambda wiring is not shorted out, Seen this happen on ph2 which pops the fuse. Might not apply to ph1 but i dont believe the wiring is massively different
I have also only done Cadwell 2 times in November on semi slicks, and it was dry but slippy as fcuk due to conditions. Did not die.
Looking forward to a summer one, should be peak weather. The track is mega, technical yet fast.
Might take 2 cars if its split am/pm again.
With my luck i can imagine it blocking the rad up. Horrible s**t that stuff. I did chuck it in an old banger i had with leaking matrix and it cured it though, no idea if it failed on the next owner
Indeed, absolute ballache of a job. On the newer renaults, its a half hour job with the joint inside.
Did you borescope your heater box to check for leaks? Ive seen a little bit of coolant loss recently but barely nothing. However it smells like somebody has sprayed a can of hairspray in the...
Can report that the blue dci goes a bit better now the airtemp sensor fault has gone. I thought it felt a bit flat recently.
In other news, the heater matrix is probably leaking again on the blue dci. Noticed a sweet smell/hairspray smell over the last few days with heater on so its pointing at...
Updates.
Coated the bumpers and all plastic trims on the Extra. In the past i done them with bumper gel, it never lasts more than one wash though and the trims go back to looking s**t.
Ive tried most of the good ceramic bumper coatings and some are pretty crap durability wise, however had mega...
Sunday update.
Inlet done. I removed another unused bracket on the front, cut the clearance required for cam sensor on 197 head and started to remove some of the oem renault casting marks. I was going to remove all the casting marks and smooth the lot, but stopped as its time consuming and not...
