Re: Project 172k Trophy, & its endless track abuse
I though that on this note, i should make a rather large update :D
Firstly, thanks to James & Tom at JMS, despite having to be on the Eurotunnel at 6am this morning, James was bleeding my brakes at midnight last night - mostly thanks to...
Ummm, you can leave me out the arguement thanks lol.
I've had Bilstein on 2 x 106 gti's, a saxo vts & a 306 Rallye, hence why i like them. I've also tried Konigsport's on the clio's - id be more than happy with either.
As it happens, i run Sachs, because i'm a Trophy owner ;)
People...
I have various reasons, & dont really feel that i need to explain myself.
Essentially, having just spent in excess of £1500 on the Trophy's engine & ancilliaries in preventative maintenance, after discussion with others, it seemed a tad daft to enter into a situation where the mapper may (or...
As far as i am aware, this wont be happening now. The offer was to me & Duck, as sceptical old sods.
Duck owns a BMW, & i've gone with a different option for convenience.
Not sure why you'd ever want to be taken to Uxbridge to hang out lol ... unless you were wearing a stab vest?
JMS is on the bank of the river Thames, its sunny. Walk a mile east on the river and there is a lovely pub called the Thames Court. Go there, eat drink, watch the boats.
Sorted.
Looks nice enough
Although if you're fitting a 'braided cutch hose' make sure you remove the clutch delay valve (CDV) 1st, makes a huge difference to the feel of the car!
Also, FYI, the cheapo eBay coilovers (Raceland) i think, are well thought of in the e36 world. If you haven't...
Lol, cheeky sod!!! True though ... ;)
Dave. <3 you. Guess uve been drinking like i have lol. My Trophy is a shed. Although, perhaps thats half the appeal ...
Buy daves, far better car for the money than the other one imho.
But imho, having done 25k a year in 1*2s before, leave it relatively standard. Cheap & fun then.
Re: "Mechanically Inept" Dave.'s TDF'd ITB & Cammed 182
Congrats on the news Dave!!
On the flipside, most people break itb'd clio's after 3-6 months of building them anyway, so its nothing to be surprised about really ;)
Re: Project 172k Trophy, & its endless track abuse
I had meaned to change them, honest :o
Well, if you're offering .... it really could do with a then a
Not especially, maybe 5mm max. with about 10mm at the rear. Then i pulled the interior out, which raised it back up again ...
Re: Project 172k Trophy, & its endless track abuse
Little update as the car has now been on holiday for a week.
Not because JMS are slow i might add, but because i told them to take their time, im in no rush to get it back. Purely as it only sits on the drive gathering dust till the next...
History/condition is more important than mileage. FYI my '55 Trophy has 174k on it ...
Get a 172, or 182 (non-cup packed) for additional suspension options. The cup-packed 182's are a ballache in that regard.
Cambelt, etc needs correct locking tools to change.
Other than that, theyre...
Made a fair bit of difference with my old saxo. Only had Saxposrt exhaust, raceland manifold & raceland induction kit, but would just about keep up with Ollie's cup to 90mph, certainly wasnt embarassed :)
Pulled quite a bit out as you can see ...
If its only a 2nd car, experiment...
