Just a thought - can anyone definately confirm this as i phone up my garage and even they cant get a date! Also - mine went on back order last wednesday (17th) so when would be a resonable time to expect delivery (im in Aberdeen) considering the above point?? This is really doing my head...
Mine is awaiting a rack and it went on order last wednesday so god knows when ill get it... Its more annoying for me as this is the second one im waiting for - renault fitted the first one and it was a faulty part!!! Now been valverless for 5 weeks and stuck with some sh*tty 1.2 courtesy...
Found this on the internet and have heard of racing teams using similar. Does anyone know anything about it?
ALTERPOWER
Though strickly speaking the alterpower is not new, I feel it needs to be brought to peoples attention as it is the best value performance increase per £ spent at £125...
Unlikely to get the 172 engine in as its taller so the bonnet wouldnt close - it hardly does at the moment anyway! As for the 2.0 21 turbo engine i dont think itd go in either as i think theyre mounted differently (longitudely instead of transversely or something - apologies to the techies out...
In my experience they are very good. I ordered an ECU from Paul and he even sent it direct to hillpower for me (where i was sending it anyway) to save pissing about..... good service and good prices...
Getting uprated cams will require other components as well but it would be a good time to do it all! If youre fitting cams, you will need to fit fit adjustable pulleys so they can be timed properly, probably new followers (esp if theres a strong tappety noise on tickover. You will also need a...

I have had 2 now - the first was on my megane 1.6 8V. that car only had a K&N and backbox and all it did was iron out a few flatspots but it was still noticable. When i got my valver, i put one on immediately but aside from being slightly smoother it made no difference whatsoever. Once i had the...
As above but im meaning more throttle body/supercharger/turbo kits rather than simply a K&N. Something thatll give me a decent improvement but wont really require a garage to fit it for me - ie similar to vauxhall throttle bodies kits - seem widely available and can be DIY fitted in a day...
Hi there - im thinking of have a small project car and was wondering how easy the following would be (i do know this is a clio forum so apologies!);
Basically i want to put a new engine into a standard 5 (ie campus) and was wondering what would go relatively easily? Obviously a 5 turbo would...
Well, my valver is still away getting fixed (week 4 now) and i got tired of my 1.2 16v musclecar clio so decided to go for a testdrive....
...went into the pug dealer and managed to get a go of the 206 180 - smart car until the salesman comes out with itll wipe the deck with the 172. Surely...
Right, after seeing some of the in-car videos that people have done on here, im thinking about getting myself a cheap video camera....any recommendations (i dont want to have to sell my soul to pay for anything!)?
Ta!
Scotty16v - as 007 said i live in NE Scotland so very few cameras on the go!
By the suggestions here, i think the flowed head is going to be the next thing on the list then the manifold (though i heard the standard cast one is pretty good as is). I had the engine reconditioned a while ago and...
Thanks folks,
Headwork seems the best at the moment and maybe the manifold. As i said, ive already got mild cams (why i have the PBV) so maybe a more extreme profile could also be usefull. Im thinking of a turbo conversion but, as thats a few years off, im wanting the best gain possible in the...
1.1 Renault 5 - unmodded and broke down constantly so got >
1.4 Renault 5 (Not turbo) - Lowered 35mm, 15" alloys, Modded front bumper, debadged, splitter. This rates as one of the best cars ever until some idiot crashed into me and wrote it off so i next got >
1.4 8V Renault Clio -...
OK folks, after my recent sway over whether to keep my valver (garage bills! :(), ive decided ill be keeping it but im wondering what the next step is for getting more power is? At the moment its got stage 1 cams, chip, zorst, PBV and all the usual stuff but it aint enough so what would be best...
My one guzzles fuel!
Think im getting about 210/230 from a tank at the moment :( but dont know if thats down to my cams, chip, PBV etc.... I suppose i do live in town and have a bit of a heavy foot but it still seems excessive...
Thanks folks for the advice - guess im just feeling a bit depressed cos its been away for 3 weeks! :( Youre probably right - may as well keep it as there cant be much more that can go wrong with it - engine has been reconditioned, new clutch, alternator, cooling system, steering...
Ok folks - got a bit of a dilema here which i need help with;
Back in Febuary i bought a valver from an auction and have been spending sh*tloads getting back into decent shape with repairs and mods but this has now run into thousands (nearing 8k). Im currently waiting for it to come back from...
