There's a yellow fine/notice on the other side too which could have been for towing to be fair.
They left the window down too, just asking for something to go in and press the lock/unlock button.
I'd make sure that it does have the correct ABS rings fitted though as this can give similar symptoms to the sensor being down.
If your cruise control works, then it's not an ABS sensor that's down.
Does having the EML have any negative effects on the car? I've just always felt when the EML is off, it runs smoother, less stuttering when setting off etc. I had a dodgy cat on my 1.2 aswell, and used to regularly turn off the EML, but I could always feel when it was about to come back on again...
I had my belts dephaser and water pump done all at the same time. Glad of it as my water pump was leaking onto the sub frame and had obviously been doing so for a while as it was rusting.
These sort of things can be 13 years old so need changing.
Is it the same as on a few other cars where if one switch is broken, the other one doesnt work either?
Have you got a power probe or know someone with one? Could put power direct to the motor unless that's broken too. Try a multimeter on it.
They run off the same fuse yeah and I'm pretty sure there's no relay on the passenger side window hence why you wouldn't hear it. Can't help past this though i'm afraid.
Hopefully my cat will turn off my EML, be nice to have a dash without any lights on it for once! I will eventually get it mapped which should remove the EML (so i've heard) as I know I'll miss the sound of the decat too much to leave it off.
Yeah it does, sounds loads better! It must have been bouncing the ticking around a fair bit. Think I was just overly worried that something was wrong as I've never really heard these cars idling before.
You dont get any fuel vapour smells do you mate?
Another update as I remove more things from my car... weightsaving yo.
Had a loud tapping from my carbon canister, and again, it's completely not needed so I removed it. Both bolts underneath which hold it on snapped off, but thankfully the one behind the front bumper came out easily enough...
Yeah it did sound a bit like that, my bad.
Just checked again and it's for the 172 cat, so nevermind.
The other fitting kit seems expensive though for what you get, might see if i can re-use my old one for now.
I've got the Ktec solid engine mount/gearbox mounts on mine and to be honest it's not bad at all. It vibrates a little but nothing too bad. I don't know how much it vibrates on the standards though to compare. Mines a daily car pretty much, although i'm only a student ;)
I do get rattly...
Haha, no, i'm not made of money.
Just bought one off Gary Spooner for £45 posted. My mot's due a week today so wanted one ASAP, thanks for the offer though mate! I had bought one off Dan, but one of the ends needs welding which he didn't know about to be fair so just got another bought.
I also...
I'd looked at the proper clip's the other day actually but I'd read a fair few threads where people said jubilee clips were better. It'll get me through the MOT for now anyway, then I'll look at buying the proper clips/tool.
Anything beats the cable tie that was on before.
Just bought a pair...
Seems pointless having something on the car which is doing nothing especially when running the KTR. Would it have even been functional without the airbox?
It was more of a 'whilst I'm there' job as I had the wheel off anyway just checking over my suspension etc for any movement as I have an MOT...
