Resurrection time, so finished the 2024 season all good and rolled into last year, and got half a day at Mallory in May done and that was it...... Sigh.
So basically, 12 years ago or whatever it was when I scavenged the wiring setup for the car from @daveski old Iceberg phase 1 172 (130k mile...
It's also not a 2001 car it's a December 2000 registered and the recent MOT history is patchy, crucially nothing on rust which is good, but loads of little bits so I'd be asking lots of questions on if all that's been taken care of too
It's no issue if it's gone, they get baggy when old and do nothing anyway but they're a nice to have. I have a third party one on the car and keep the original in a box in the shed, lol
As above really, main advice is get lots of detailed photos looking for any rot
Amazing thread and fantastic work shipping the little baguette 🥖 out there and then using it with the knowledge that you've got the full maintenance plan on your plate too!
Great pictures in their own right too, great eye!
Keep it coming
Can I ask to, is the 76 on the plate your DOB? Or...
I'll check see if it's on my Odyssey register too, plate looks familiar. It was used hard 2017-2019 as well, over 60k miles in two years, overall mileage is similar to mine, 180k ish
Best colour, and it'll get under your skin for sure. If it's not rotten when you get under it then it's a keeper imo and the rest is just tinker time, likely a lot just bad earth's as it's perhaps been sat, so clean up all the earth straps through the car and see where you are then
Fucked, another winter and she's ditched, sniffing 180k now. Had to replace the OSF hub assembly due to the common ball joint pin hole ovaling issue, another oil and filter and a centre cap fucked off.
Still love it, still use it all the time
Mega, I have no recollection of how basic it looked back when I joined, same with most internet stuff, because it always felt modern at the time the rose tinted was always firmly on... Queue teary nostalgic eyes
For the sports, everything that's not a 182 cup, cup suspension pack or trophy is same, 54mm bolt spacing. The aforementioned models are 60mm bolt spacing
Technically yes, but the gearbox was rebuilt couple of years ago with bolted diff and the top end of the engine was rebuilt after a cambelt failure at about 130k before my ownership
It's not as clean as it looks in pics but it's solid which is a good thing!
Bath day, needs roof sorting, boot still and a million and one other bodywork issues .. Thankfully none of which are rot/rust. But for 24 years and very nearly 175k miles she will scrubs up okay!
