Can I call on the Cliosport Bullshit'o'meter...
MOT failed on the Passat B8 - front (DCC) shock absorber leaking fluid after hitting a pothole (Council claim submitted).
I asked on here about OEM quality aftermarket brands - the consensus was Monroe. Ordered from Autodoc at £115 a side, which...
Feel like that solves it as my power source is a 40m extension reel at the moment as I only use it for power tools in the shed... one wire for the camera run and buried down the garden would suffice I think? Or does that limit me to only PoE stuff and therefore more costly versus Rob's suggestion?
Maybe I'm misunderstanding the technology but when you say "network cable that supplies the data and the power" that means one cable from my router to the camera, right, supplying both? I'd not need to plug it into the power source.
The power to the shed is via a long extension cable at the...
Search didn't appear to provide results on PoE...
Our shed is 40m from the house. We have power but no Wifi coverage. I'd like a camera on it after a few local issues. What are my options? PoE looks like the best route. We have a brand new EE router but unsure if I'd need additional equipment...
Ordered and delivery today. Can't argue. Indi is being good about it too. Sounded like genuine surprise their parts supplier was significantly more expensive. Booked in and saved circa £400 on parts!
*inserting a thank you Jamie and Cat.
How reliable is Autodoc on right part numbers?
The company I use for service and repairs, who failed the MOT, have come back with £630 for two front Monroe shock absorbers and seemed surprised their supplier (when taking off the extra fat on top...) isn't as cheap as Autodoc (which shoes £115...
Would anyone know the best OEM-standard, aftermarket replacement for Passat B8 front shock absorbers? The car has dynamic chassis control so would require electronic dampers.
From what I've read, it appears to be a K series type concern - i.e. similar engine in a different application ( K series was a small capacity/powered engine fitted to a heavier car like a Freelander). There is a design difference (unsure what specifically) between the CUAA engines in the...
A second daily tank has landed, earlier than I was considering but effectively (lucky me) inherited based on my father's despising dealerships and trade in.
2016 Passat B8 estate
2l BiTDI, DSG, 4Motion
It was a press car, I am led to believe. It has every option ticked bar leather (suits me...
I've kindly inherited a VW Passat BiTD estate from my father. He's damned if he'll trade in with Volvo for half its value and doesn't want to deal with Joe Public...

If they're not in bad nick, yes - it'll give a good "as new" finish. But it's not a product that will bring greyed plastic back to black. It's a sealant not a dye.
If they're unfinished metal, buy some metal polish and a drill attachment from Amazon or Ebay (or probably Halfrauds). Treat it like an exhaust.
If they've been lacquered, as above but with something basic like Super Resin Polish. That'll do it.
If you're local, pop over (Surrey).
That's interesting as I was specifically advised the polar opposite i.e. Apple watches were found to be more accurate than the Garmins. My watch was spot on versus the timing chip for the run on the weekend, but will see how I get on. I bought from Amazon so if it's not up to scratch, I'll...
Cheers, Mike. I agree, the charging thing has already started to annoy me. Heading up to the Lakes, I've had to buy an in car USBC charger and two USBC plugs, given the SE watch doesn't come with anything but a wire...
However, tracking at the weekend on a run and it is doing what I want it to...
While the ForeRunner 55 had exactly what I wanted (just tracking times better while running tbh), for £129, it seemed silly not to get something more and future proof a bit. Bought an Apple Watch SE Gen 2 in an Amazon March deal. Testing on Saturday for the Coniston 14m!
Thanks, folks. Budget wise, £100 is fine, £300 I'd want it to do a lot, £500 for a watch when I have a smart phone feels silly.
Appreciate the input. I'm considering just getting a basic ForeRunner 55 and sticking with maps/payment etc with my phone.
