Hmmm I'll have another look! Lol! Keep your eyes open for a grey s2 Rs turbo.........he will give you a run in your cup mate! 2ltr 8v zvh and over 400hp! Runs the original Rs turbo dog leg alloys as well. Flol! Sleeper!
Personally I'd run with the 2.5 degrees you ran last season pete. The roll centre kit just makes the suspension work better by correcting the fundamental suspension geo.
Were you knocking the b****cks out of the edges last season?
No mate they're different. You want mk1 laguna hubs that are off a 2.2d. They're the same as the cup racer hubs apart from where the steering arm attaches. The cup racer hubs had an insert that converted the taper for the track rod end so it was the other way round. This is mk2 Clio cup racer...
You cut 5mm or so off the selector at the g/box end so it allows the rod to slide further on (where the pinch bolt is). This makes the gear lever sit further backwards so it's not as much of a stretch for 1st, 3rd and 5th. It's also closer to where your hand naturally drops down to.
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
It comes down to what the preload is set to really mate as well. That's the bit that makes the diff aggressive or placid.
Re: 'Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc'
For all out performance the gripper is the way forward, but if you want a fit and forget option go for the Quaife. That's as simple as it gets really. Gripper maintenance ain't to bad either if it's not getting hammered in a racing environment and I'd...
How extensive a roll cage are you after mate? I've got a custom cages cage and my car is road legal, has x door bars and it's fully welded in. It's not the full on thing they sell though as unless your racing it's just not needed. I opted for the cl4 kit as it's more than up to the job.
Fronts are too soft - try a 450lb spring to start with. Rears are waaaaay to soft. If it's track only you want 500's in there as a minimum. The rates you've posted are ideal on the road, but heavily compromised for track. Look at Ast sportline 1's
Yeah I'd say your about 10-15mm lower than standard at that ride height now mate tbh. Did you ever post/find out what the spring rates are on the spax setup?
Wishbone angle looks loads better mate. You'll definitely feel a difference from it. Personally I'd be very tempted to run a tad more camber up front as well. No more than 3 degrees though. My wishbones look similar to that, but I'm lowered a good 50+mm ;)
Set the tracking and get it on track...
Yeah full cage is fine. Make sure it's padded though. They had a hissy fit at me 2 years ago because I had none!! My reasoning of 'I've got no brains to smash out on it anyway mate' didn't go down too well.
Fletcher is the corbeau revo one with the wrap around head restraints? If it is you'll not be allowed on the ring mate. Just a heads up so you don't end travelling over there and being turned away.
Yeah me too mate, and giving someone a starting point is all I try to do. It's just a shame it gets covered so many times. Search function should bring all the old discussions up. No offence meant to the OP either btw.
Yeah that's fair enough mate, I can understand your desire for safety equipment over performance stuff. Budget? What are they? Lol!
Ideally you need the car on a flat level surface to set the ride height as well and leave it unloaded. Adjust the o/s/f coilover 1-2 turns more than the n/s too...
