A chunky 39GB patch is out....
Version 0.1.4. is now live. This includes:
AUDIO:
- reworked music system to result in better reliability and improved fading
- new music for menu, gameplay and ending sessions
- fixed potential issue when audio device is lost
- tweaked Mount Panorama audio...
If it's anything like the Mk2 Phase 2 bumper, they are pretty straight-forward. Definitely helps if you have someone else on your first attempt, just to support the (front) bumper whilst removing it - but it's certainly doable on your own.
There are two bolts - one each side of the bumper, up...
Another small bug spotted - hidden steering wheels still retain paddle shifts.
I think my biggest graphical gripe however, is the 'line effect' of I believe textures being drawn in. I had this every single time at Oulton Park on ACC when coming out of Knickerbrook and up to Clay Hill - the...
So, it was out with the Fanatec shifter earlier and in with CB1 switchbox. Not done any cable management with it yet, but will over the weekend.
I do still want some form of shifter at some point, but I'm in no hurry. Might look at reviews of other brands, unless Fanatec has made progress in...
Had a couple of mini AI races earlier - just trying out different cars at Brands. Have to say that the 695 behaved completely different to RS3 and that in turn was totally different to the S2000. So good to actually have such varied behaviours to chuck about.
Quick question - does anyone know...
Tbh - they've done a cracking job with the pad, straight out of the gate. I was pleasantly surprised at how 'catchable' the cars were when too much commitment was put into a corner.
Back from holiday today and bought it whilst waiting to board our flight at the airport. :P
Only tried it with the pad so far to get some feel for it - will have a go with the wheel and pedals tomorrow. I'm swaying between a good effort so far, to some rather ropey and rough execution of things...
It does look different over time - and very much different from the first posts I put on here.
As to what is going on - I've no idea. It gets more abstract and obtuse with every update!
Not sure of the 'true' benefits of this, but thought I'd give it a go.
So, some studios leave their existing DLSS support in limbo, despite updating and patching the game that uses it. Some people report significant improvements within games that support DLSS and of the games I've tried it with...
95% for me is for racing games. As others have said before, it's really well suited for them as you don't physically move about the room you're in.
They massively add to the experience too - glancing across at your mirrors, naturally looking towards the apex, etc. All adds to the experience. :)
Might make the swap myself? Looks like the Vive Pro 2 headset alone is around the £300 mark on eBay.
Looks like I'd have to go to the 512GB version for the pancake lenses - or else I'm just back into shitty FresnelLand with the lower models...
IMO - the Fresnel lenses are that poor, it's strange as to why they even considered using them in manufacture? It literally is like looking out at the world while sat in the middle of a lighthouse lamp. It really isn't clear at all.
Is the Quest 3 compatible with the likes of Steam for VR, do...
A decent refresh rate is massively noticeable - and one that I struggle to do without.
For the vast majority of the time, I'm using my monitor @ 144hz - but output to the TV at 60hz for the driving games. Occasionally, that 60hz precedence stays on the monitor as well, but you notice it in 2 or...
Err - nah!
Think I got it sorted. Looks like MSI Afterburner was set to an overly keen under-volt - leading to a false error message relating to a specific nVidia file. Strange though as Assetto Corsa Competizione is way more demanding hardware-wise and that hasn't bitched once.
Removed...
There's a lot of other genres that just slot into the K&M control method much more easily though. RPG, aRPGS, strategy games, adventure, RTSs - the list goes on. I remember some RTS games being released on the PlayStation and thought that was mental. How anyone would even have the patience for...
There’s a lot that a controller is better for. Anything like a platformer, basic racing game, etc. But with any FPS or 3rd person game - I find K&M to be way better. The precision alone is worth the effort over controller for me.
Tried all of Rockwank's support suggestions. Two in particular relating to setting changes on the RDR2.exe - stop the game from even launching. Again - great testing there, guys. Some of them even make little sense from a software perspective. Like hearing knocking coming from the rear of your...
I genuinely have never known anything like it in 40+ years of gaming. It's like Rockstar says "here's our control method. You don't like it - you don't play"
Looks like I'll have to force myself to use a bloody controller with this - or simply not to play it at all.
The PC version has 208 inputs for keyboard & mouse. I even had to re-read that again myself when I first saw it. What absolute levels of insane stupidity went into the development of the...
Has anyone gone from the likes of the Vive 2 with the Fresnel lenses to another headset?
My VR usage is minimal due to the absolute necessity of keeping your eyes forward without the periphery view being as blurred as hell.
I just want to play a few racing games in VR without my eyesight...
