All I do is. Get a spare lid of an aerosol can or cup. Spread it on with a brush and by the time you have done that on the wheel jet wash it off

Superb wheel acid, used it years ago when it was like £20 delivered. They then stopped selling the 5 and only sold 1L @£15 ish or the much larger like 20L.

Wrong I'm afraid. You sit there long enough with an aggressive pad and compound and it will burn, trust me lol.
I tried to remove a deep scratch on a sales car, whacked out my 3" (polisher) with red flex pad, roar compound ceramic.

What polishers have you seen? Like you say there are hundreds.....
Budget 100/150 is easily enough. But factor in you need pads, polishes etc.
Buy dodo juice lime prime for polishing, use a white Rupes 5" pad.
For cutting grab koch h9, use with either an orange or yellow chemical guys pad.
For a finish grab some natty blue or Red wax.
Before all this remember to decon the paint
