The TCM doesn’t require the gearbox to be removed, it’s on the outside of the gearbox casing as are the motors.
I do agree with you that these cars do suffer from an electrical issue but what or where that issue is I’m not exactly sure and unfortunately don’t have the time to spare to trace...
Yep! Been there done that got the Tshirt. Mine would throw up check auto gearbox when the ambient temperature was high. A new TCM solved my issues with the gearbox.
I wouldn’t mind betting that it’s not clutch slip they’re detecting - even though that’s what it feels like.
Every so often (haven’t worked out a defining factor yet) on a flat out acceleration mine will pull the power which feels like the ecu detecting slip and pulling the plug. Doesn’t do it...
Mine still came up perfect even after 18 months of abuse, hand washing by me and by the local car wash..!
I was so pleased with the Carbon Collective I used it again when I got my wheels refurbed.
Nice job but why does the attachment in the second post after talking about switching wipers on show 2 mk2 Clios?

Another minor milestone hit on the way to CSF last weekend 😁. After a fabulous day at Anglesey I headed off across the water for a short break in Ireland which added another 800 miles 😂
