Not sure how old the one in mine is (it is carbon). But the bearings were all completely shagged. So a good freshen up can’t hurt. It feels totally different now.

Finished the refurb today. New upgraded pivot bearing is a big improvement. Not only is the motion smoother and plusher, it no longer rattles. As mentioned above, the bearing feels much better than the stock one. More of a controlled motion.

All the hearings were seized. So wanted to replace them. Hoping the selector will be nicer to use. And less rattly. I don’t mind buying tools, I buy them as I need them. Useful to have around

NMB ABT12 arrived today. Feels like a much smoother bearing back to back.

Hi mate, I’ve always been an arai man. But I would suggest going to a shop and trying a load on and seeing which fits the best :) the top end of most top brands are usually good. Oh and worth looking into a decent set of custom ear plugs. For what my opinion is worth, spend as much as you can...
